Guesses on where the next Chapter will be?

This chapter (High Isle) was the first time I didnt buy an annual expansion for this game, the plot didn't interest me at all and especially the zone. knowing it wasn't even a "cannon" part of the original Tamriel lore just felt shoehorned. With that said, where do you guys think the next area will be? Any guesses or clues? I hope they go back to a more dark and grittier theme again like Greymoor or more mystical theme like Summerset & Morrowind.

It'll probably be about the Bosmer, since they're the only race left to not have their own DLC (if you count Craglorn to be a redguard DLC).

In high isle there a character saying the next place he goes will either be to hamerfell or or the telvani penisula

This could also be referencing that those 2 where the most spoke about hypotesis last years before high isle reveal

def aint dying with over 20 million players. Just hadda bad slump this year with a sucky chapter. All the others ones were good. and im betting Coof had something to do with it. (as per the excuse for everything 2020-2022 lol). Now that everyone's back in the office (im assuming), i have a feeling next chapter will be better

20 million through the turnstiles. Basically, the number of people who came in the front door. They don't release the number that left and never returned.

As for "back in the office"... who knows. Honestly? Unless the studio pulled out the hammer, probably not.

If they continue to tease, then yeah, good possibility. That said, this one will be easy to not buy. The Telvanni in Morrowind were cringe and an entire peninsula of that would just be too much. If they don't make it cringey, then they didn't do it right. Either way, easy to skip if that is what the next chapter is.

Agreed. I've no interest in the Telvanni, or any of the Dunmer really. The only thing that would get me to even consider it would be a redo of female faces for Dunmer - so you can actually make a decent looking one.

Like what everyone tells me when i dont like something "then dont play it then" 😝. I just want a new male companion. Thats all i want im sick of Bastian 😆. I hope they dont add anything new neither. Just a good story ina good zone with lots of quests and activities to do. Plz no more card games or board games.

Didn't they say that they wanted to do a chapter for each race once before going back to a place? So with that in mind, my guess would be Bosmer or Redguard. Bosmer would have to be like this year though with an island somewhere because all of Valenwood is in the game.

I received an email asking lots of questions about my thoughts on ESO but one of them was asking if I played because the game reminds me of older games I've played. If enough people list that as a reason for playing then it will be retro back to a previous game. I only played Morrowind and Oblivion, so it must be set in one of the other old games this time. I think less mystical, more hack and slash.

This is pretty much my feeling about the Telvanni in ESO: Morrowind. For all TES 3's faults, they understood that when you add slavery to a video game, many players are going to want the option to free all the slaves. ESO's writers ignored that in pursuit of the stories they wanted to tell instead, so there were some pretty cringy quests and areas where anti-slavery players just stood there like "Whelp, I defeated Molag Bal and stole the Magnifica's dowry but I guess my hands are tied..."

TBH I kind of like the High Isle DLC better than some of the previous ones. It feels more like Oblivion in terms of being less gloomy than, say, Greymoor, which is a nice change of pace. I like that it's not all daedric invasions and world-ending plots for once.

As for the future, well, from where the High Isle story currently wraps up it looks like they might be going for an end to the Three Banners War, which... about time, really. With everyone working together in the previous DLCs the war starts to look less and less meaningful. Also, an end to the war would give them a good excuse to go and do something new with the pvp side of the game to shake things up a little in Cyro and such. Seems like the pvp folk get the short end of the stick a lot of the time, it'd be nice to give them something new and shiny for a change.

Part of the issue is that you have the slavery in TES 3. So, your implementation of slavery removal/reduction has to also leave open the door for it's return within the next seven toe eight hundred years.

I'd assume that is why the Telvanni still had slaves. Needless to say, that leaves it messy for dealing with full Telvanni areas as you'll either need to leave an area that can't be accessed for slavery to remain or not allow the player to eliminate slavery much at all.

TES 3 didn't mean the end of slavery in game. It just handled it so that when players encountered slaves in cages, caves, or in the fields, the player always had the option to free them once they found the keys. It meant that in quests the player could side with the slaver or the slave. There was an abolitionist movement you could join. It didn't make much headway towards ending slavery in the game's time frame, but it made a difference for individual slaves.

It's entirely possible to create a society in which slavery is ubiquitous, and yet the player has some freedom in choosing how to act when they encounter it. TES 3 already did it.

You could say the same about Houses Indoril and Hlaalu. Telvanni weren't the only great house that practised slavery, just the most pro-slavery house on Vvardenfell.
