State of the Game, August 2022, Pros/Cons

Pros:
Graphics, enhanced with Nvidia freestyle colors
Sound effects, both combat and environmental are immersive
Feels like an immersive world
Solo Quests
Non-vet dungeons
Story
Ease of leveling
Player housing

Cons:
Graphics, default graphics are bland colors, a huge turn-off to many MMO players
Fix: Offer players color options similar to that of BDO, default, vibrant, etc.
Traders/Auction House: This is the most hated part of ESO for me and many others. Bots and elite guilds control trade. Selling is limited to those options.
Fix: Implement a Guild Wars 2 type of central Auction House, min/max is set by ESO.
Animation Canceling: Seriously fix this, it's not a feature, it's an overlooked exploit that allows people to have double or triple the DPS of those who cannot do it.

    We have people killing people in PvP in less than 3 seconds.
    3x DPS using animation canceling means people can farm mats at Vet levels far easier than casuals.

    Fix code in the dungeons... 10 years later and we still have issues that you cannot progress in a dungeon without reloading the UI.

    Fix Heavy/Light Attacks from stopping?!?!

    Im not sure how animation canceling helps with farming mats in most cases. In overland animation canceling of any kind inst helpful, at all. Everything dies quickly anyway.

    I doubt most people truly want animation canceling gone. Some probably dislike weaving light attacks, but animation canceling is more than that. If you really wanted to play a game without it, try Elden Ring. It has very little and part of the reason some of the fights can be so punishing. Its a great game, I have nothing bad to say about it, but thats what a game without animation canceling looks like.

    Imagine for a second being is vSCP and the tank is heavy attacking for resources at the moment Zaan beams a team member. Instead of canceling that animation and blocking theyre stuck until the animation finishes. Most likely the team mate will die. Its not 100%, but more often than not inexperienced groups would die because of it.

    It would put even more emphasis on rote memorization than already exists instead of a more reactionary flow of combat. It would make the transition from normal to vet and vet to vet hard more harder if it were removed.
