Black Marsh

according to the Elder Scrolls lore Black Marsh contains various regions, such as Gloomire, Middle Argonia, Murkmire, Shadowfen, Thornmarsh, and the Ultherus Swamp.

We have explored Shadowfen in April 2014 and Murkmire in October 2018. When will we be able to explore the remaining 4 regions ?
During the afternoon of Loredas, 6 Sun’s Dawn 2e578 a big piece of Aetherius fell to Nirn. It was the first major piece of Aetherius to fall on Nirn in more than five hundred years. It scattered around the world as millions of shards. It was rapidly documented by Lady Cinnabar of Taneth in her pamphlet Aetherial Fragments that "... when three shards meet, they re-form into a silvery prism by unknown process and confer the power unlocked by the merger to a nearby being." The Order of the Black Worm, commonly known as the Worm Cult, reappeared in Tamriel shortly thereafter and some of its members are avidly searching said shards.
In the last week of First Seed 2e579, an arcane explosion occurred in the Imperial City — a night of storms, and trembling terrain. They named it the "Soulburst". That day Emperor Varen Aquilarios disappeared without a trace. His wife, Clivia Tharn, ascended to the Ruby Throne as Empress Regent under the guidance of the Necromancer Mannimarco. Ushering a time of increased instability within the Empire of Cyrodiil which finally grew into “The Three Banners War”.

Hopefully never. I've had enough of argonian areas with their dangerous plants and insects and their puddles that look an inch deep but somehow dismounts me. JK JK. Mostly.

Or the plants that grab you and suck you in for a slobber kiss........LOL
The place seriously NEEDS the Imperials to conquer it ... just to get the bath houses.

What I hate are the kotu gava - the normies aren't bad, but the broodmothers are a total PITA. And there are so many of them....

Hey, don't say bad things about Black Marsh's flora! I put a few of the "friendly" Murkmire plants at my home and when a guildmate visited, he asked why in hell were the plants trying to kill him. No, I don't have a moat full of crocodiles. Yes, devs should add that to the game.

I've always wanted to visit Black Marsh, probably as a result of Oblivion's Blackwood, a region I quite liked and to which the other province was tantalizingly close, but beyond reach. I also tend to like dangerous swamps in games. I was so curious that in my early days of ESO I rushed to Shadowfen, even though back then the zone's level was far above my own and those bloody wasps could easily kill me. Murkmire only increased my curiosity, as some of the lore books there describe more interesting places further north. I wouldn't mind a Black Marsh chapter, especially if it showed that root network the Argonians use for transport.

Well the parts which are more inland are not very hospitable to non-argonians, so they might be avoided for that.

Though I'd love to see Thornmarsh. Would also be a good spot to add some dunmer stuff, because it's bordering House Dres territory. Other places in Black Marsh would be nice too, because I love argonians and swamps are cool. Which Black Marsh technically is. As in a swamp, not a marsh.

I'm worried though that if we go further in from the borders ZOS will make the lore generic and boring from what it has been described.

If they could exterminate malaria and dengue in that area, I would visit more, maybe. Not sure.

We got Gloomire last year as part of the Blackwood zone. It borders right on Murkmire (and we still wish ZOS would put in a gate between the two zones!).

Combined with Blackwood Bog, a full 2 thirds of that map is therefore Black Marsh.

Much of the story is Argonian story, too.

I, too, am excited to someday see places like Thornmarsh. Soulrest would be really cool, too.

But I think it might be a good while before we get to see more.

Its more so the side quests that are mainly Argonian in Blackwood, the main quest was Daedric.

I would love to see Archon and the Shadowscale Training Facility. the eastern coast also has Ayleid and Velothi influence, so that'd be interesting as well.

Helstrom, otherwise dubbed as "Nigh-unexplored" would fit best as a Q4 dlc in a self-contained area where you cant access any other area except across the lake from Archon. It'd be how you connect the 2 storylines with us starting in Archon and then ending in Helstrom, like we think we defeated the big bad, but a ferryman from Helstrom comes to pick us up and he's like "lol you're far from done." Then we'd go to Helstrom by way of the boat and that's the only way in or out.
