Rename conceed match to leave match, or don't give us deserter penalty for conceeding

To conceeding is to admit defeat, it's not storming off the table and leaving a match. If I'm conceeding I'm admitting the opponent beat me fair and square, so either rename this to leave match or do away with deserter penalty.

Or just do what other games have done and only let you concede after a certain amount of turns have passed. It doesn't make for a fun game if you're lucky enough to draw a turn one armory and your opponent instantly gives up. Let the game play out a bit before letting people take the easy out. People tend to give up too easily. I once got an early armory and my opponent intentionally maxed out the clock every turn before conceding right before I hit 40 prestige. He just wanted to waste my time out of spite because in his eyes the game was over the moment I got armory.

This game needs an option to concede. It's basic functionality.

There's no good reason why people should be punished for recognizing that they can't win.

I like the idea of being able to concede after a certain amount of turns, so that the games don't end too early.

I do not play ToT as I find such card games boring. I recall that when a player quit the other player did not get a victory on their quests. The deserter penalty should be removed only if the other player gains the victory.

Even then, it should require playing a minimum amount of time as others have noted.

I don't see any reason not to be allowed to concede after a couple of turns if the cards have not fallen well. I should not get any reward and the winner should get a full win reward. I have just sat through a couple of very depressing Orgnum games where I could not get off the ground.

I play chess and I concede the moment I go a pawn down unless it is a gambit play. That is the accepted etiquette and I would be wasting the other players time to make them play out the game

Agreed. Conceding a match should only incur a penalty before a certain number of turns to prevent any reward farming shenanigans, but conceding when your opponent clearly has the win and you just don't want to sit and watch them play it out shouldn't be an issue for anybody.

    I completely agree.

Why be punished when acknowleding that the opponent has won?

So we're supposed to sit through the opponent taking maximum time each turn, knowing they've won and sometimes prolonging the game just to make it worse. I'm all for enjoying your win... you can still do that if someone concedes - you still win... but why should the person who, let's face it, had a bad run of RNG only, be punished for that?

Help me make sense of it.

The problem is that the game was over the second you pulled Armory because of bad RNG. Since the RNG factor can't be done away with, the penalty for conceding should be removed.

They are privileging quitters in this game. They are rewarded and they ruin the chance of the winner to get the victory to complete the daily quest.

They should properly give the victory to the player who remains until the end of the match and no reward at all to the deserter, or, if they want to continue stealing the victory to the remaining player, at least they should give a deserter an account wide penalty for 24 hours.

Obviously the major problem is the bad programming of the results, but the quitters taking advantage of it are ruining all the fun in playing ToT.

The daily quest should be awarded when somebody concedes, that IS a bug and is being fixed so that point is moot. To conceed does not mean to quit, it again, is conceeding defeat so from this i take it that you are on the camp that the conceed button should be renamed.

I don't know the difference. I never quit or concede even when I'm losing, like 99% of the players now. But I can see a "concede match" button when I click the "esc" key. So, I guess that's what losers do to penalize the winning players.

I used to never concede but sometimes there is no point in going on. I can tell when I'm beat and would like to be able to say "You win" and stop at that. Why should we get a penalty for conceding the win to our opponent?

Exactly this, I got outplayed, here your win, and then I'm penalized for not dragging out a game a wont win.
