Whitestrake *runs for cover*

At risk of opening a Pandora's Box of Worms (pardon the mixed metaphor,) is Whitestrake happening in a couple of days? I've *sort* of started getting my characters ready but if it's not happening, I'll stop. It's not really my comfort zone in the game and if I don't need to tremulously hurtle my way across Cyrodiil or around the Imperial City, I'd rather not.

Just for up to date info, Whitestrake is running from Thursday 28 July to Tuesday 9th August! Official news thingie here - Whitestrake Event

I think @Tryxus, who is clearly clever and observant, has the answer:-

"On the July Crown Store article, it says that the Star-Made Wolfshead costume will be available from August 1 to August 8 after the start of the Whitestrake's Mayhem event.

I think we'll get the announcement sometime this week."

If it is, this would be the first I'd heard about it. Whitestrake's Mayhem is one of the few events that I enjoy so much that I'll let my daily crafting writs slide so I can spend more time in Cyrodiil and the Imperial City-- which I suppose is kind of odd, since I stink at PvP and am not particularly drawn to it, although neither am I afraid of it.

Before thee vent starts, do the IC quests, but don't turn them in. That way, you can turn them in one a day for the tickets and miss the event crowds.

Exactly this! I assumed the event would start on the 22 July (I think it's started then in years past?) and I've gradually done the IC dailies and the Cyrodiil scouting quest on a few characters already, but...no news about the event. So I have a sneaky feeling I'm all previous about it actually happening.

Events usually start on Thursdays, and I doubt they'd start it tomorrow without having already announced it, but who knows?

I'm thinking it's probably more likely to start on Thursday the 28th of July, assuming that it is going to start this month.

Not looking forward to the PvP event as well, as I dislike PvP and don't want to come anywhere near it. This time I really hope ZOS does not spread out the tickets as they did in previous PvP events, where we needed to do two PvP things just to get all the tickets for the day.

But I have to second the above posts, the event will probably be next week. As ZOS always announces the events a few days to a week beforehand.

They said "late July". Don't remember where.
And yes... I'm waiting. My favorite event. If you don't like it... please stay in pve. We have only one pvp event. All other events for pve players.
Or you can come and we'll drain these tasty alliance points from you. Hahaha. 😝👌

The current campaigns end July 28th, so I would feel comfortable saying that Whitestrake will start Thursday, July 28th.

Wasn't it behind a Cyro and an IC quest? If you have multiple characters you can prepare some quests.

Or... you jump in the action, try to group up and you might get to know some cool people and learn new things. If you keep your eyes open you'll see that there's plenty relatively casual guilds or groups that go to PvP zones.

I guess it's only fair since there's also events that require PvE. So 2x PvP in a year is not too bad.

I also saw that the Imperial champion armor ive been killing for was supposed to come back during whitestrake's mayhem in the July showcase, so if i had to guess, Mayhem is starting either sometime this or next week, my money is on next week if its a two week event.

But yeah Whitestrakes Mayhem is an absolutely bonkers shitshow of me getting curbstomped 8 ways from Sunday. Problem is I want the Ebonsteel set bad since I wasnt around for it last time but also really like the House Dufort set because it reminds me of the old Runescape armor.

I'm finally assembling some proper PvP gear so I'm looking forward to it. Till now I sported my PvE stamblade build in PvP, to a varying degree of success.

Originally, it was a summer event, "Mid-year madness." Then they started doing a second one in the winter to fill out the schedule, so it's now biannual... wait, is that the right usage of, "biannual," or is that every two years? Either way, it's twice a year now.

Just don't all flood into the popular campaigns and end up crying cause you get zerged down from us PVP'ers playing the campaign, go into one of the many ones they open just for you to go in do your quests and leave

We don't want to start our guild run and half the guild is in a 100/200+ queue because all the PVE'ers flood our server

No, Ravenwatch started a few days ago ( PC/EU )

The main campaigns (Gray Host/Blackreach).

Either way, July 28th is a safe bet

Or you could bring them into your groups, teach them about PVP, help them gear up and then there are a lot more fun and larger fights... I mean, that is an option....

Don't wait for the event. Stack enough completed IC quests and cyrodiil scouting quests on your toons well before the event (preferably weeks before). Then you can ignore the mayhem and just hand them in thus avoiding all the gankbots and other nonsense.

This event-- as well as the similar-but-different Imperial City celebration event-- is a great time to explore the Imperial Sewers with other players of your alliance, grabbing the skyshards there, killing the crossed-swords bosses (and the patrolling bosses if your group can handle them), visiting the center of the sewers, and generally doing all of the things you might not be up to doing on your own.

Of course, it is also a great time to visit and explore Cyrodiil if you've been avoiding doing that, picking up the useful Alliance War skill lines, as well as grabbing the skyshards, exploring the delves, and doing everything else that Cyrodiil offers.

Finally! The best rewarding of all events. Made millions and millions just by grabbing the golden jewelry available. Also it brings some life to Cyrodiil.

We need the population and some of you might find that you like it there.

Also, when you're in either Cyrodiil or Imperial City you can quickly and safely get back to base by queuing for the opposite campaign type (e.g. if you're in Cyrodiil queue for IC and if you're in IC then queue for Cyrodiil). You can port into the other campaign then queue and port back to where you were originally and it will deliver you back to your home base area. This allows you to avoid having to backtrack back to your home base and risk potentially getting ganked (or running into the IC sewer bosses), etc.

I will totally pass on IC, won't even bother going there once. I will just do a scouting mission each day and call it a day. I dislike the costume anyway so I can focus the next 3 events on completing my indrik and get the parts for the pet again.
