slotting channeled acceleration increasing stat?

Hello I’ve been wondering about something relating to channeled acceleration skill. I know when activated it gives you minor force which increases critical damage by 10% but when I switch to the bar slot that has the skill my spell critical rating goes up without having to activate it. When I activate it I do get minor force but the critical rating stays the same as when it is just slotted. Anyone else experience this? Is it necessary to activate channeled acceleration if this is the case ?

Are you looking at your Crit Chance going up? Because that is unaffected by minor force. You have to go deeper into the Advanced stats to see your Crit Damage modifier.

Your right I just see the difference now. Thank you for clarifying that. In advanced stats my critical damage went up. So critical rating is different from critical damage? Do you get critical damage up from gear sets ?

A few gear sets increase crit damage. More increase crit chance.

You probably have another skill slotted that gives you extra crit rating from a passive. Or if you have CA slotted on Bow bar you could be getting the extra % from the weapon passives.

Things that give extra crit chance:
    - Daggers equipped
    - Bow equipped
    - Major Prophecy buff (Inner Light slotted)
    - Any set which gives crit chance. You could have it active on one bar because of the weapon being from that set, but not on another bar

Critical Chance = Percentage chance that an attack will be a critical attack. Ranges from 0% to 100%.

Critical Damage = How much extra damage a critical attack will do compared to a non-crit. On Advanced Stats sheet, this ranges from 0% to 75%, but this is a little misleading. Critical attacks do 50% more damage by default so that number is what you are getting above the default 50%. If you have a Critical Damage of 40%, that means your crits will do 50% + 40% = 90% more damage than a regular attack.

So if you have a crit chance of 55% and crit damage of 45%, that means you have a 55% chance of your attack doing 1.95x more damage than normal.

The game is pretty good about differentiating between crit chance and crit damage, but you have to pay close attention to the tooltips and buff details.

You want to find a nice balance between these two. Lots of crit chance but weak crit damage is not ideal. But neither is lots of crit damage but rarely getting a critical hit. Better players than me can give advice about the sweet spot for particular classes and builds.
