I wish Ansei cards play choice didn't block the Tavern

I know, I should do better at remembering the card costs, but I don't, and it is annoying when I play an Ansei card, and it blocks the tavern so I am not sure if selecting the coin option might be a better choice, so I have to esc out and then decide and play it again.

    ..decide and play it (again).

If you start with that, it should solve your problem. It's what I do. I look at the cards before I play them. Autoplay also won't play cards with options, so there's ample time to look at the cards before actually playing them. If, for example, I see no cards for 5 coins I want to purchase, I look at my discard pile. If there's nothing useful there to return, I don't even bother playing the card, finish my turn and let the card discard itself. That way my opponent doesn't directly see which card I just discarded and many people don't bother looking at the discard pile. And sometimes I, like you, don't pay enough attention and I am forced to do what you do: abort and look again. There's no shame in that and it's not like it takes up much of your 90 sec turn.

I can't say it really bothers me because in my case it's my own fault for not paying attention. That doesn't mean you're wrong though. Lowering such windows and/or making it smaller (or allowing it to be lowered or resized) would improve the interface.

Or just let us back out of it like you can if you're about to sacrifice a card to the bank

On Xbox... Always tried B and it doesn't do anything but last night I tried select and that worked.
