Food/Drink buffs & Other Buffs & the Skill Bar

How many times do you go out to eat and you order your dinner with a drink? Your meal and your drink go hand in hand. It has always bothered me that you can only either have a food buff or a drink buff active at one time, but not both. Why can't ESO change things up to make them more interesting by allowing one food buff and one drink buff, active at the same time? Instead of nerfing light attacks and creating new game sets, when there are already hundreds of sets, why not change things up a bit that way? Why can't we have a food buff and a drink buff active at the same time?

I have played ESO in total for about three years. I started out in 2019, played for a few months, left the game. At first, ESO was too complicated and took too long to do anything and I didn't have the time to commit. In example, why does it take 6 months of daily interaction with the game just to fully upgrade your mount? Then came 2020 and COVID. Had more time to check the game out. But why does it take 6 or more months to fully research crafting of a single crafting skill?

Rather than having to slot skills in order to have buffs, why not either get rid of buffs altogether, or at least, make them automatic. For instance, I don't know of anyone who does not somehow slot the major damage and major armor buffs in PvP. Or PvE for that matter. One of my PvP characters has 5 buff skills slotted, just so that I don't die in 2 seconds. I would rather slot a skill that does something unique and interesting than slot a buff, if I can. But currently, that's not the case. Out of 10 available normal skill slots, I have 2 to 3 skill slots that actually do something and the rest are damage over time, heals, and at least two are always damage and armor buffs. Heals are part of the game, but normally, especially in PvP, you need a burst heal and a HoT, otherwise, you are dead in 2 seconds. So there's two slots just on heals. Armor and Damage buffs take up another two slots. All I'm saying; there is to much time and effort spent maintaining buffs, than actually playing the game and using and creating combos of skills. I try to set up a skill combo, but nope, I have to switch to my back bar first and re-do my damage buff, then switch back to try my combo again.

Has anyone ever tried to do that on the NA server for Grey Host Cyrodiil at 7pm CST, when lag is at it's worst? How many times have you been playing in Cyrodiil and you tried to activate a skill and it does not FIRE, while you are also trying to swap bars, and your bar swap does not complete? Having to slot buff skills and having to bar swap repeatedly for short variations of those buff skills when lag is present is next to impossible and it frankly is dull and boring.

    Exactly.

I specifically remember the very first time I ate food in this game--then attempted to drink something--only to be surprised that the drink cancelled out the meal.

I thought to myself "well that's pretty stupid."
