Seriously. It gets boring.

Also limiting the number of times you can get paired up against any specific opponent, consecutively and/or total number of times within a certain timeframe would also make it harder for people to boost their ranking by getting people to queue up and concede.

it depends on peak/off-peak servers' time.
once at 2am i got one and the same opponent 3 times in row for Ranked.
tried to whisper them if we were left alone in the tournament, but, obviously, they played with the Offline status.

I don't mind playing someone multiple times. Gives me the chance to win! Every game of ToT is different and I like that.

I once got a player 3 times in a row, and have gotten a couple of others twice in a row.

I'm ok with it if I'm winning.

I'm not if I'm losing.

A couple of days ago I got the same dude 3 times in a row. First round I beat him. The second round he ragequit halfway through. And then when we were immediately matched up again, he refused to select a patron and I won automatically. Good for my XP, but not really fun.

I've always assumed that getting the same person multiple times back to back can only mean one thing, there is not a healthy number of players playing the game.

The last time I had a score of one I still placed in the top 500 of ranked players.

Or both of you use the finder at the same time because you both used the finder right away after your game? Tot only need two players, so there’s either 1 or 0 players waiting when you search for a match in theory, it means there’s probably a good 50% chance of you getting matched with the same person if you are both chain queuing Tot. The odds might even be higher if you are playing ranked as you probably have a smaller pool of opponents that can play with you.

The best way to match against different players would be to wait a little so your opponent gets matched up with someone else if they use the game finder right away.
