Ranked Matchmaking suggestion

While I was playing ranked today, a friday during primetime, I did really well I won 9 games and lost 2. The issue is, because I was already reasonably high ranked (top10%) I managed to lose 150 rank points for each loss, while gaining anywhere from 15 (FIFTEEN) to 50 rank for each of these. Now I accept that to be the highest rank I need a high winrate, but this is just obnoxious.

The real problem is that all of these matches were found either instantly or within 30s. I can accept a huge discrepancy in rank if the number of players is low, and the matchmaker takes a long time, then it might get less 'strict' about finding a fair match. But for an instant game I expect an opponent of comparable rank where I stand to gain nearly as much as I lose.

Currently I literally can't play the game and rank up. 80-90% winrate to break even is frankly insulting.

So I suggest a matchmaker that is more 'strict' to start and matches less and less strictly/appropriately as the queue time increases. Any other suggested fixes?

More strict matchmaking would be greatly appreciated at the top end. Every top 50 player I have heard from has said they would rather longer queues at the top if it meant more balanced gains/losses in terms of leaderboard points.

Currently if you are in the top 10 and face an opponent who is not even on the leaderboard, you are risking so much progression for so little gain. You could beat the same player 3 times in a row, but then lose once and end up negative in points with a 75% winrate.

I did exactly this just a few hours ago, the worst part is, instead of ending a good string of games w/ a good winrate, the loss just takes all the fun out of it an leaves you with no enthousiasm for the game.

Maybe even just a match history to look at would help with this mental effect, but that's probably terrain for addons
