Where to begin?

Hi everyone,

I got ESO on launch day and played for a little while, but set it aside after a few weeks and haven't played much since.

Now I'm looking to get back into it and I'm really confused/overwhelmed at where to even begin...? I want to finish all the content from the original game, but I'm not sure how to buy the expansions and such since the only one I can find on the shop is the new Breton one.

Also, I don't know if I'm doing things in the right order and if I have like 5 years of time between Quest A and Quest B...it feels like a huge mess and I'm lost. Would appreciate any tips.

And just to save the time, I'm not interested in zerging to max lvl and raiding and doing all the current content and getting all the gear, min/maxing, etc...that's just not my style. I want to play each of the expansions in the intended order and take it easy, enjoying the content and digesting it at my own slow pace.

Now, I think the least expensive way to get all chapter content (which will include the base game which you already have) is to buy the High Isle Collection:

Welcome to ESO! The game has grown and can indeed seem daunting. I'd recommend having a look at this guide made for those just starting out and looking for some help with what order to consider playing things in. It is written and maintained by @VaranisArano and I expect she may pop in here to amplify things better than I could.

Yah that flow chart is fantastic.

If you buy High Isle you will get all the paid expansions, but you will either have to sub or piecemeal the other DLC'S to get everything else. Some DLC are just a couple of dungeons (Wolfhunter, Dragonbones, Shadow of the hist) whereas others are more full fledged stories (Murkmire, Clockwork City, Dark Brotherhood etc...)

Whether you want to "rent" the DLC'S through subbing or flat out own them through purchase is a personal choice of convenience VS time playing VS other sub benefits (the craft bag being the largest single benefit of subs imo).
