Can't Log In - Anyone else?

Just got home from work and multiple problems:

• Launcher crashes to desktop
• Launcher exe. bypass crashes to desktop
• Got logged in, chose character, crashed to desktop
• Repair shows no problems

Help?

ISP not the problem. I'm online posting here; all my other online games launch fine. My guess, ZOS's new hardware still can't handle primetime traffic.

I can't log in, but just with one character. This specific toon is on Murkmire. I can log in with all my others, but when I try with this one, I get message of server connection timeout.

Well, I just logged right in again with no problems. PC NA, yes, prime time. Might have something to do with routing? Since I have crap satellite, I'm sure my routing is different from yours.

Just before log in probs, it kicked me out after screen freezing a few times.

I can log in via steam perfectly fine. But when I run the executable for my second account it just stops responding not long after character select. PC all updated, no internet issues, tried with lower graphics and all addons disabled. Nothing is working.

Still can't get past the screens where the logos bounce around. I crash to desktop no matter what.

Everything ran fine until today's Crown Store update.

Everything was fine for me, too, until the crown store update.

Each time logging in, I crashed at the Bethesda logo.
I tried the following:
1. Update video drivers: no improvement.
2. Repair files: no improvement.
3. Uninstall and reinstall the game: no improvement.
4. Remove addons: no improvement.
5. Repair files again x 3ish between other steps: no improvement.
6. Uninstall all Microsoft visual c++ and reinstall latest version: MINOR improvement.

Currently I don't crash at the Bethesda logo anymore, but I have no mouse cursor at the character select screen and the game locks up before I actually make it into the world so far.

I'm out of ideas. I had zero issues before your patch today.

When I get to the character screen if I try to rotate the character it immediately becomes non responsive and CPU usage drops to 11%. The visuals are stuttering too, even when tested on minimum settings. I can only guess that it’s a graphical issue? Strange that I do not have that issue with my Steam account.

@Alexsae Did you ever get it fixed? I still crash at the Bethseda logo.

Having similar issues post crown store update, crash to desktop at login screen.

Have tried:
repair
reboot
graphic card driver update
remove addon folder
reboot router

@Enemy-of-Coldharbour No, it's still not fixed. I had a couple more crashes at the logo, but now it mostly hangs up at the loading screen after character select.

I had the same problem about 10 hours ago (I was able to run the game without a problem the day before that). I installed a new copy of the game on a different drive and that worked - I was able to log in using that one, but I'm still not sure what the problem is.

There were no error messages. The first time the launcher loaded fine but when I clicked the 'play' button it greyed out and the game never launched. I shut it down and restarted and after that the launcher got stuck on 'loading' and never actually loaded (nothing appeared except the launcher background, no option to pick the main or PTS server, no advertising window, no play b button and no menu button so I couldn't even run a repair). I tried launching the game directly and the screen would go black for a second as if it was loading then it would go back to the desktop. I couldn't get any further than that.

I tried many more things, but I think the issue was ultimately the firmware and driver on my Corsair mouse. On the chance one of the other steps contributed, here's what I did after what I listed, above.

7. Uninstalled the game again, this time from the file folder and not from the launcher.
8. Manually deleted the ESO folder in documents.
9. Ran CC Cleaner Pro which updated all the other drivers it found, cleaned junk files, and put into sleep mode programs that shouldn't be running.
10. Started the freshly installed game. No mouse control so I couldn't do the initial setup. Closed the game through task manager. Tried again. No setup options this time, and the game froze AGAIN on the Bethesda logo. AAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH.

11. Collected myself and remembered it's too early to drink tequila.
12. Changed the USB port on my mouse: no improvement.
13. Opened up iCUE that runs my Corsair gaming mouse. Updated firmware and driver. Restarted my machine.
14. Success! The game is working so far.

Same problem PC EU

I can bypass the logo freeze and log in after turning off Nvidia Geforce but the game completely freeze when I try to move or interact after logging in on my character

And old thread point out exactly the problem I have though I didn't updated my driver since a long time but I am in windows 10

"Hi, I'm experiencing exactly the same problem of the game screen either freezing although background music, SFX sounds and character control sounds like running or jumping still operate normally, OR the game outright crashing to desktop.

The freeze started occuring after I installed the February 2021 NVIDIA graphics driver update, was NOT solved after I later installed the latest March 2021 NVIDIA graphics driver update, and still persists. In fact it is so severe that at times the game freezes and/or crashes right at the login screen, to the point where I am completely unable to play ESO at all.

What is odd is that the problem seems to occur ONLY on Windows 10 OS, as I tested running ESO both through my regular C:/ installed Windows 10 OS, and also through a Windows 7 partition that I keep for emergencies, yet the Windows 7 launched ESO normally without problems.

Therefore the core of the problem lies either with the latest NVIDIA drivers being faulty OR with conflicting issues with the Windows 10 OS. Either way, please investigate this asap ! "


Iv'e updated my driver, the game now instantly crash on the bethesda logo and my workaroudn no longer work to get to the log in screen

Ok found something that can help

ANYTHING that has an in game overlay may cause a crash, I tunred off shadow play, exited Overwolf, closed discord and I can log in and play so far without freezing when I move

I was dead in the water all day. Overwolf was the culprit! and I don't even use the damn thing.. sheesh..

Disabled Overwolf and instantly it’s fine. Mind blown. Such an odd problem to have.

Are you getting any specific error messages?

I finally got it working. I deleted Overwolf, turned off Geforce Experience, opened iCUE and updated my keyboard and mouse drivers. Runs great now. Looks the most common denominator here was Overwolf.
