the substance of the land surface; soil.
    "a layer of earth"

earth is not the same as Earth :)

"Unnirn a treasure chest" then? That sounds like flinging it into an Oblivion portal.

You know what I'd like to see wrt antiquities? An update to Murkmire that includes a deep delve (not group dungeon), where excavating antiquities is enabled. That would be way cool! Just an item on my wish-list.

BTW I get that this doesn't have much to do with the thread, it's just something I thought of when I read the title.

Know dolmen chests give reward same with the chests in DSA. But will these chest fulfill the daily quest?
Grinding just make you go in circles.

When earth is spelled with the first letter in lowercase it refers to dirt/soil/ground etc..

When its spelled with the first letter in uppercase it refers to the planet we live on.

Pretty sure there is an NPC IG called Guardian of the Earth. Think there's water and air, too. So, in the elemental sense, it deffo works.

There's a forge called Earth Forge which is underground:
    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:The_Earth_Forge

There's a family named Earth-Turner, who are farmers (and what do farmers do?):

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Denskar_Earth-Turner

On Solstheim (which you could visit in TES3 and TES5) there are dolmens dedicated to nature and the elements, one of them is the Earth Stone (there's also a Water and a Wind Stone):

There's also the Earth Bones, another name for the Ehlnofey.

Earth may not be the name of the planet but it seems to be used as a general name for the substances it's made from. (And also as a practical measure, because there's only so many made up words you can swap into a fantasy setting before it becomes impractical.)

Funny thing, they translated in the wrong way in the German localization of the game (the French one is correct though, as far as I know).

Any chest found in the world works for this. Ive memorized a few around the area that I park my characters and I complete the quest rather quickly. Bar the loading because of how many are in Craglorn right now.

So that's what they meant when they said "Close shut the jaws of Oblivion". Just shove a chest in a portal.

I think so? I'm pretty sure Maelstrom chests count, so you could go in, clear round one, and hop back out. If that's correct, then, yeah, it would apply with DSA as well.
