There was maintience today, first login after any server downtime takes minute or 5

The initial log-in after a patch is always a lengthy one. It has been like this, with a heads-up from Gina prior to it happening, since the Greymoor update.

The game has to re-populate the database with all of your character data. So, side-note, the more characters you have, the longer it will take.

Another new bug, every time I try to log a character out, it shuts the game down.

We are aware of an issue where ESO can crash when logging out on Windows 7. Our development team is currently investigating this issue.
