Is it time to redesign "random normal" daily?

It's fine as it is. My problem is with the waiting.

If I have to wait longer than a minute for a que, I no longer want to do it. Since I only play DPS, my ques are much longer than that. The result is I don't do randoms at all.

And just about all the changes suggested will increase queue times. Longer queue times means more people leave queue or don't queue in the first place. Which means longer queues. A vicious circle. No matter how much some players hate the actual gameplay style inside random normal dungeons, more people will hate not getting into a dungeon in the first place.

All they need to do is let us opt out of having DLC Dungeons included in the random dungeon que. Really, the only problem is that most people don't want to run the DLC dungeons with random groups because they are a step or two up from the base game dungeons - and are often much longer.

The simple and accurate answer is the random daily does not need to be redesigned. The game already has tools to handle the situation presented.

ignoring the 3 low level comrades completely.

With the example OP provided they had the power to vote kick the player that was ignoring them.

Further, when queueing for a random group we are asking for random players including the chance to get a player that will rush the dungeon. The game also has a solution to avoid such randomness and it is called forming your own group with the specific goals or requirements one desires. This is done successfully every day by a large number of players who do not want to deal with the randomness of the GF.
