Dungeon: best tank setup? Buff or debuff?

Hi fellow travelers

I got a question for the math competent players.

Lets say DDs got around 5k pen for a dungeon run.

Which setup would imrove team dmg the most:

Tank in both setups got access to major and minor breach aswell as infused crusher.

Setup 1:
Tremorscale for 2k pen
Crimson Oath 3.5k pen
Yolnakhriin 215 weapon dmg

Setup 2:
Spaulder of ruin for 260 wpn/spell dmg
Yolnakhriin for 215 wpn/spell dmg
Powerful assault 307 weapon and spell dmg

Basicly what Im asking is mathmaticly would it be better to focus on debuff the enemy or to buff the team?
Which would yield the most dmg increase in vet dungeons?

    I would do your second option but with Nazaray or Tremor instead of that Spaulder of Ruin. That’ll be much more practical across all fields of gameplay. I would also consider turning tide as well as a set to have in your inventory. Cheers :-)

    If you're not at risk of DPS overpenetrating, probably the Pen option. If you want to know for sure I'd check via UESP Builder.

    However, that presumes DPS to be a known quantity. Plenty Dungeon DPS may run more Pen in random groups, so anything beyond Breach and Crusher may well be wasted. I'd go for weapon damage in that case.

    base vet dungeons: Void Bash set. Really, that is all you need. For "go nuts" version i suggest Plague Breaker + Dark Conv and blow up all trash at once. Also super fun )

    DLC vet dungeons: SPD/WPD setup suitable for any situations as already mentioned.
    minor breach 3k
    major breach 6k
    2h crusher 2k
    base 900 pen from CP
    = 12k

    So DDs needs at least 6k pen for cap. Most of light mag players have it by default. Stam players also have it via Lover mundus, sharp weapons, maces, whatever. Also class unique pen stuff like Crystal Weapon, Master Assassin.

    iirc the penetration from the CP tree is only for that player. Doesn't apply to others. Same thing as using a Sharpened weapon on a Tank. Doesn't apply to the group.

    Setup 1 for pugs/randoms

    Setup 2 for organized group. Agree with @Jaustink. Nazary is a phenomenal set for tanks

    i would like to echo that spaulder is a poor choice for a tank, because they already have low sustain (usually 700-900 recovery)

    spaulder A) only works when allies are near you, usually you want allies behind the boss and B ) spaulder would kill your already low recovery

    a setup i usually see people run is nazaray + turning tide (both come from the same dungeon too)

    turning tide for major vulnerability, and nazaray for near 100% uptime on it
