Tel Galen coming July 7, but who else is still creeped out by it?

I was excited to see it was returning but then I remembered what it looks like: a giant exposed tumor. I've seen Dr. Pimple Popper remove things from people's bodies that look like this tower.

Anyone else creeped out by this tower? Inside is little better, with all this exposed fleshy tumor everywhere.

Now I'm debating whether I should get this and try to turn it into something acceptable-looking or wait for Highhallow Hold. I know it has mold on the walls but the architecture and setting are so beautiful, while Tel Galen looks like a massive cancerous lump of flesh but hearkens back to Morrowind and still retains that odd alien feel that that game had.

Idk about creeped out but I was and still to a degree am heavily disappointed they went the route they did versus the Telvanni Architecture we seen in TES3. Which is so weird for me because I LOVED their architectural styles in all the other aspects of Vvardenfell, especially Vivec City which I thought was a massive improvement architecturally.

There's been a lot of attempted excuses to explain it over the years, the mage's not being talented enough yet, the craft not perfected yet etc etc but none of them really felt satisfying enough to make up for the fact that we could have gotten one of the most unique, beautiful, iconic architectures in all of TES and instead got something that is far inferior in my opinion.

They feel less like a mastercrafted amalgamation of magic mastery & fungal beauty and more like a regular stone tower that got randomly overgrown by a combination of mushrooms & flesh atronach body pieces.

The differences in quality were night & day in my opinion:

I too am freaked out by it, if it wasn’t flesh colored it might be better.

Also you pay top Crown price (unless it’s really on sale, didn’t notice) for such little usable space inside. That’s almost an equally bad turn-off.

The Bosmer homes look more like the Telvanni ones from Morrowind, I tried to make a sort of Telvanni Tower from Bouldertree Refuge, allways welcome to take a look on PC-EU.

But I couldn't resist to buy Tel Galen either. Somehow it fits my Necromancer

It's - rather obscene - I find.... I would never waste money on it. This is not how I envision a huge mushroom at all.

The mushroominess of it doesn't bother me as much as it is overly filled with mushroom leaving too little interior floor space.

I think people are fascinated by it because of a total lack of interesting mage tower homes for players.

THIS. I probably would have loved Tel Galen if it was a nice blue shade or something on the mushroom bits.... but nope

That's why Telvanni mushrooms look the way they do; ZOS gave their aesthetic to the Bosmer, so they had to come up with something new.

Honestly, if they had just went with a more brown/grey color palette rather than pink, it wouldn't be an issue at all. Though I'll also say I've seen a few pictures of fungus & mushrooms that look frighteningly like human flesh, so... they weren't totally off-base here.

Yeah I've had my eye on this as well. Not even speaking on the architecture, it's by far one of my most anticipated areas to see! Super hyped for that one day, hopefully it is coming next year!

However speaking on the architecture, hopefully it comes with some improved Telvanni architecture. Could make sense lore-wise, the more advanced of the Telvanni having better mastered the art of it.

I am READY for the Telvanni Peninsula Chapter with Port Telvanis & Firewatch, new Telvanni manor home, ancestral Telvanni motif, new Telvanni furnishings, Telvanni-themed antiquities, Telvanni crates with new Telvanni cosmetics, and Telvanni-themed mounts.
