Time-gated leads are not fun

I thought Zenimax would've learnt from the Sithis helm that time-gated leads are terrible.
I've currently done 245 daily crafting writs and still haven't got the Grand Hattu Onyx for the Lefthander's Aegis Belt Mythic. Had friends get it after 14.
Am I just having bad luck or is this just bugged? I hate writs and would take the 6.5 hours farming water holes again over this time-gating and I refuse to buy more than 8 character slots

✭✭✭✭✭yeah im not happy about them adding it to daily writs (or the one for the mages guild daily quest)
i never did daily writs because i hated doing them, but im doing most of them now to try to get that lead
its also annoying with the mages guild because you either have to get shares or constantly switch toons to do another questplays PC/NA

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them
