Though I expect to probably stay with two bar builds, I do agree that Oakensoul is a good idea. I know quite a few players with challenges that such a tool can help with. More options is good and this one has the bonus of offering better accessibility to some of the game's challenges as well as for those who just want a simpler build.

Let’s not praise Zenimax for putting an accessibility item behind a paywall and multiple hours of grinding. It’s a horrible practice.

Let’s also not let this exempt the Oakensoul item from criticism. Major courage and major force are provided by healers or tanks, and no effort has to be required on a DPS’ part to have these buffs. Why are these buffs included in the buff list from the mythic? Many of the buffs it gives are unjustified solely for accessibility reasons.

Ikr because we bought the base game for £10, zos must give us free updates and new items every year, oh also they should be mailed directly to us, why even grind in a mmo. The keywords here are "accessibility item". I think many of us understand the real reason they released this item, but it is ZOS themselves that made the "accessibility item" claim. Would you charge someone for ramp access if they didn't want to or couldn't use the stairs? C'mon now.

I don't think we need worry about seeing much Oakensoul among top coordinated dungeon groups. There are, however, a huge number of solo players who don't carry healers or tanks in their pockets and want those buffs without having to micromanage them. Good option and, as I said above, options are good. As a healer, I'm not particularly concerned about losing business.

Really cause OP says that the ring helped in Veteran Dungeons. PvPers are saying it makes very strong set ups, and you’re saying it’s a solo item. It’s almost like it’s good everywhere and it’s too strong.

Oakensoul is for players that think buying the latest expansion should put their playing strength on equal par with those who have spent years learning to optimize their rotations and play style.

Oakensoul is pay to win.

ZOS called it an "accessibility item"?

As for whether or not "accessibility" should be free, states vary regarding whether or not they charge a fee for handicapped parking permits, so apparently "free accessibility" is not a universal given. There's no such thing as a "free lunch," because somebody's got to pay the bill.

As a 300+ ping player , nothing is better than I can play and challenge the game without bar swapping .

I like the idea of it being an accessibility item; but it goes 2 or 3 major buffs above that. It would still be good if those 2 or 3 buffs were minor

1. The Oakensoal ring gives solo players the buffs of a raid team.
2. Therefore, the Oakensoal ring is useless in a raid, because there you already have the buffs of the raid team, and then two bars are still better (and required).
3. The Oakensoal ring is insanely OP in solo content, like vMA, vVateshran or PvP, because now you can play there solo with all the buffs which were meant for a raid context.

I wouldn't expect any nerfs until sales of High Isle die down. They're not going to take away a major reason for people to buy the expansion. And it continues the history of ZOS making the game easier over the years.

meh, i still get better scores with a standard 2 bar setup, and for classes without built in healing i'll take pale order over oakensoul.

I tested it two times in VMA , TBH not really instanely OP but less stressful , score is about the same , teag I got some raid buffs but I lost my DOT bar....

Maybe it's another story in PVP right ?

Guess we have to predict , what buffs will ZOS remove from this ring ?

That’s great, I’m glad you and your sister are enjoying the game together.

I don’t see too much of an issue with raising the skill floor in PvE, but in PvP this item is greatly diminishing the integrity of the game. This item needs to see battle spirit balancing. By far the worst patch PvP has ever seen.

I could live with the ring only working in PvE. I would hate for it to be ruined in PvE only because it might be OP in PvP. I say "might" because I'm not convinced at this point that it is in a general sense. Werewolves have great synergies with it. Other than that, DKs still seem to rule BGs, just like they did before the chapter.
