I get this consistently every 15-30 minutes, regardless on zone or time playing. How to fix?
Playing with good internet connection on surface book2.

Drives me nuts, I don't want to put the game away yet another two years.

@ZOS_Bill This is happening without any addons being installed at all. Also starting game as admin.

@ZOS_Bill additionally to this error message, I also now also get the lovely

"Error 303: Connection to the server has timed out"

I'm sitting on a 13 Ping with 100 MBs of download speed.

@ZOS_Bill even after all the mentioned suggestions, I'm still frequently encountering the "An error has occured" error message. So often it doesn't allow me to queue for BGs, Cyrodiil, or Raids. Basically making the game unplayable.

Is there any other actions I can take?

Did you get this issue fixed with your surface book? Hopefully you did, but if not, one thing I would note with laptop/tablets like those the wifi sometimes periodically shuts off. Thats fine with browsing. Streaming movies. Wouldnt cause a problem...it can however cause a problem with anything that requires a constant check. Not sure if ESO does or not.

Things you can do to fix it:

    1) Dont use wifi. If possible use an ethernet. If your model does not have ethernet, look up a usb adapter that they use for Nintendo Switches. They are cheap and reliable and work great for stuff like this

    2) Always run the game while plugged into the wall. This should be a given for any game on laptops/tablets. The reason is the cpu and hardware no matter what downclock themselves on battery...no matter what settings you use. They claim its for your safety but eh, you can look more into it if you want.

    3) Set up a windows profile for ESO to use full performance as well as setting up your power options from "Balanced" to full performance

    4) A weird one to check...make sure your time on your device is set to auto update and that when you force the update it is working properly by connecting into the microsoft servers

    5) Set up your firewalls and allow ESO access as well as setting it up on private instead of public
