Take a look at Elden Ring's quickslot design - that's the benchmark. You can't survive and progress without it !

Emotes seem to be mostly an RP thing, or at least used more by us than the other half of the playerbase.

For me, I used Sit5, eat, drink, bow, one of the music ones, lie down, and I can't remember the other 2.

None, ones I'd use eventually I can easily /write myself. Wish we could customise those useless slots for different means like PvP devices, scrolls, foods & pots etc.

None - I've never been an emote user. I don't even use emoticons in forums or emails. That stuff makes me cringe. In fact, the entire wheel thing is clunky and not something I have a use for outside of the Q keybind for a healing pot.

I like to use shovel during trials or how about sweep on those allies who died and died

None yet, but I'll probably use it for the ones where there's multiple variations and I can never remember which one/s I like best, like the sit, dance and sleep ones. The others I can just type when I want them, but trying to remember if I want /sit 4 or /sit5 is annoying.

If I had the space, would also add read, juggleflame, marshmerrowroast(sp?) and probably a couple others.

I added my favorites, not that I really use emotes often.

Cat Contemplation, salute loop, kneel pray, lean back coin and a few others. It's nice that we actually can access them a bit easier and faster now.

I agree, I do not use the new wheel system as it is clunky and unfortunately non-customizable.

You can slot whatever you use the most in the main wheel (quick) and take the allies/companions/tools to the newer wheels.
Now my main wheel on PvP is just scrolls/buff food/siege/repairs/camps and my main wheel on PvE is just scrolls/pots/buff food.

Lovely Emotes addon has spoiled me with 8 pages of 15 emotes each keybinded.

I mostly use the ones that automatically write a message into the chat box - "is everyone ready?" is surprisingly useful.

The remainder are usually whichever emotes are changed by the currently equipped personality.
