How to acquire the 4 Patron Decks & All Patron Cards and Clues

ESO-Hub made guides for all the 4 decks. Rajhin and Ansei are fairly easy to obtain, the other two take a bit longer.

Ansei Frandar Hunding Deck Fairly easy to get, kill WB, Public Dungeons, Quests etc.
Rajhin, the Purring Liar Deck - Easy to get, just do quests in High Isle
Red Eagle, King of the Reach Deck - Need to level up Rank first to get this Deck.
Sorcerer-King Ordnum Card Deck - Need max Rank to get this, have to combat the 5 founders.

I'm almost certain from the PTS that each of the Founders has a certain prerequisite you need to meet before they'll actually play you, as far as I could tell from their dialogue.

"I've not heard of you before; gain some more experience and we'll play when you have something to teach me" - though granted, even with my Tribute level maxed out at master on the PTS, I still couldn't play her, so not sure what other experience she's talking about.

"Hone your craft; challenge others and improve. When you reach the summit, return to me." So maybe you have to win in a ranked tournament? Or be the top ranked player? Or top 5% or something?

Murzaga says

she's "tired of bleeding novices dry" and to "come back when you've got a title under your belt." Not sure if this means winning one of the NPC tournies, or winning a PvP tourney, or using a Tribute character achievement title or what, but nothing I tried (that I COULD try, since PvP matches were off the table on the PTS) worked.

Nhorhim says

to "assemble a grander [card] collection", but that apparently means more than just the four starter decks and the Ansei / Rajhin / Red Eagle decks. It can't include the Orgnum deck, since those deck fragments are given out for beating each Founder and you'd have a chicken-or-the-egg situation, so maybe we need all card upgrades?

And finally, I'm pretty sure based on what The Author says that her requirement is that you

have to beat the other four Founders.

Of course what the prerequisites ARE is all conjecture based on my experience on the PTS, but they indeed exist.

Yes some of them. My buddy could do Linyia and Filia immediately after reaching rank 7 or 8. Nhorhim wants you to collect cards, Author will only fight you when you did all others. I think Murzaga might require rank 9 or 10, or pvp ranks.

On the PTS I couldn't play any of them even after maxing out my level, so it's good to know that was apparently a bug.

Nhorhim is possible without fully upgrading decks (I have 7/8 unlocked but not all upgraded and have that fragment), Murzaga is a chicken that won't play someone who has Rubedite PvP and has fully completed the story and has all the other decks and has defeated 3/5 founders (Murzaga and Author won't fight me).

Murzaga won’t play anyone under master rank. The Author won’t play until you’ve beat the other founders.

Too bad that Sorcer-King Orgnum deck is unbalanced. It was a grind to get it.

Are decks character locked? Or can i grind on multiple characters to get cards/decks? I get that my rank is character locked; or it seems to be based on having to do the starter quest to play on each character. I'm hoping decks are account wide. Not character locked

I don't think you have bad RNG, the drop rate is just super low.

The patrons only play you after you have become master rank (rank 8). I did not need to ever have any other objectives completed to fight them.

Leveling up, getting specific achievements, and of course, the clues from victory coffers.

regarding clues drop rates it is, indeed, low.
i have posted in other threads here: after approx. 230 games i have got 7 clues and 1 tapestry.
every day i play 8 .. 12 unranked matches with beer and Alan Parsons "Turn of a Friendly Card" 1980 album music.
Both fit ToT well, well.. if you are a dinosaur.. kind of

for the nord you need more cards
for the orc you need to do rivenspire quest
for the author you need to fight all others

Noted. I guess since I'd already met those requirements when I encountered them, I didn't run into that wall.
