Your own explanation of them describes how powerful they are: "A 5 piece set kind of gives as much crit chance"
A mythic is 1 piece that gives you the benefits of wearing 5 pieces of gear in many cases. And it also still allows you to wear 2 other 5 piece sets. In some cases, like Death Dealers, the stat density is insane. And as you pointed out, for solo play, like solo arenas, Pale Order healing is really strong. For PVP, running something like Snow Treaders make it so you cannot be rooted, which is pretty strong.
Tons of different benefits, and yes, some with drawbacks. In one gear piece.

A 5 piece on a set... not a 5 piece set.

Yeah, a 5 piece on a set, that requires you to wear 5 pieces to gain the benefit of. You have to wear the full set to even get the 5th piece bonus. Mythics are just 1 item slot. They require you to wear 1 item and gain the benefits.

That's still 1 item for another 1 item, kind-ish. I don't really see it as a benefit, I see these mythic items as huge drawbacks. They are not very "og please use me, i am a mythic item!!".

I thought mythics would be some kind of super powerful item but to me they just seems decent, like a 5 piece set item and many of the mythics got something negative to them and not only positive, so I don't see the powerfulness in them, sorry.
There is some ring that heals for every dot effect, I see this useful for solo builds but other than that, no..
Some try to explain to me what is so good about mythics, cause I don't see it.
I don't really PVE these days except for the benefit of my PVP builds. I do daily randoms to get the 10 transmute crystals and items to add to my sticker book or sell for gold and mats. I play no CP/proc PVP. For this type of playing mythics are pretty powerful. ROTWH gives you more speed than making 2 jewelry swift. Any PVP player these days can tell you how important speed is. Gaze gives you tons of armor and health and oh yeah, health recovery too. About 6-gear pieces worth of stats. Markyn ring gives 300ish spell damage and 3600ish armor for someone using 3 sets of 3-items each. PVE players probably wouldn't care much about armor unless possibly a tank. So I'd say in general PVPers are much more interested in mythics. Although the new ring might be interesting to PVEers as well if they're willing to give up bar swaps and skills.
But like most others here are saying you will get more benefit from 2 5-piece sets, a mythic, and 1-piece monster item than you would from the same setup and a full monster set instead of the mythic and 1-piece monster.
