Vent Spawn Frequency

So far I've uncovered two vent locations. I'm trying to do the daily. I have spent an hour at one location, keeping an eye on the second, so I could port there.

The one near Gonfalon Bay never spawned. The other spawned twice right after one another, but I didn't get there in time. Now I read in chat that again, another one (that I hadn't uncovered yet) has spawned twice within minutes. But I still haven't seen the one in Gonfalon Bay spawn.

If the two islands have a combined spawn timer, then I'm never going to see one of those vents, until I've finished all the quests and explorations. >.<

Could we at least separate the two islands? Have a seperate rotation for each one?

And no, I don't want to go rush through all the areas, uncovering everything, on the third day. The content of this expansion is supposed to last us a year. I'm not going to finish it all in a week and then be bored for the other 51... >.< I like to take my time, I like to explore, I like to enjoy the quests. And I'd really like to have a chance at a vent within a reasonable amount of time...

The vents work the same as dolmens. One goes down another comes up, if you spent an hour waiting that means a vent somewhere else was sitting with mobs spawned, and not being fought at.

There is NO "spawn timer" for any world event dolmens, geysers, vents, ect, exception being elsweyre where the dragons spawn after the last one comes down but doesnt fly to the ground right away

there are i believe 4 volcanic vents in the "mainland" high isles and 2 volcanic vents in the amenos island section

as mentioned there will be one active with the crossed swords on the icon, however it only shows the crossed swords if you have previously discovered the location

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Thank you. Yes, I am aware that the active ones show as crossed swords on the map.

If no one has explored the second isle yet to the point where people actually go there to fight at the vents, it doesn't make sense to have those on the same rotation as the ones on the main isle, does it? If they sit there for hours, without being cleared, and on the main isle people are waiting for the locals ones to spawn, that's definitely not a positive game play experience.

As I said, wouldn't it make more sense to separate the rotations of the two isles, instead of the vents sitting there untended?

No, it has always worked this way, to ensure only 1 is active at a time, i understand you dont want to go swimming for the next one but you can always ask in chat which vent is currently up and run to that one

I know serveral people that did a majority of the main questline day-of, an hour or two of questing/ exploring and youll have all your wayshrines and vents unlocked enough to farm vents when needed.

It sometimes does the vents two in a row at the same spot and some of the time you don't have many people doing them so it is going to take quite a while to bounce back down to the lower ones. I'd advise just enjoying the story and do the vents later rather than waiting for it to come down.

This wasn't an issue for me. It took little time to ride my mount to all 7 vent locations and collect the nearby way points. When a vent is active, it shows it on the map. I did a dozen vents back to back, when one ends, a new one starts.

I always spend the first day or two in new content fishing. I hit most the water on the map don't accept any quests and try to avoid points of interest. I took the boat over to the 2nd island in search of more foul holes and don't feel that exploration is going to take away from my experience when I start the quests. I think you will be safe if you visit each wayshrine and vent without interacting along the way.
I know it is fun to take your time and enjoy the new things as you go but that play style does prevent in certain activities until later. If the two islands were on separate timers I believe the main island vents might be ignored.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

I have not seen the vent on the south shore of Amenos Island (Ghost Haven Bay) go off once in the last 2 days.
All others have activated multiple times. Is the south one on Amenos bugged?

they are random, but do not follow the rules of other "dolmen" activities, in the fact the same one can pop back to back (i think last night saw some people in zone chatting that one of them popped 4x in a row)

It seems to be weighted towards spawning closer to where more people are, but it's not a guarantee.

If you want to do vents you should make it a priority to visit them all and unlock the closest wayshrine.

There's no rotation here like in other group events - which one wil become active is totally random. I've had the same one activate 3 times in a row.

By the luck of the draw if you camp one, you could be waiting literally for hours before it activates.

@Ravensilver Discover all the *insert world event here* locations or the active one won't be displayed on your map.
