Craglorn - The Warrior's Call - Titus vanishes in library!!

I am playing Craglorn - The Warrior;s Call and currently in the library helping Titus find the Legend of Tarish-Zi. When examining the pile of books at the back left of the library I hear Titus say 'Wait… That’s it… Show me' but he character vanishes from nearby and I can't complete the quest. I have tried abandoning the quest and restarting it but it is still the same. Please advise if I have missed something or if this is a bug

Same thing happening to me. My companion (Mirri) disappears when I enter the room where Titus is. I can resummon her if I press Q twice (unsummon and summon?), but if I move a couple meters away she disappears again. When I select the book pile, Titus says his line "Let me see that" or whatever he says, then he disappears.

If I Ieave the library and reenter, Titus will be in the back room again; rinse and repeat. Logged out a couple of times and retried, completely quit out and restarted and tried again. All with the same result.

I just did this again with a different character. Basically same result.

Titus was there when i entered the fist time. He ran with me until just before the library room, then disappeared. I selected the pile of books and nothing happens, Titus is nowhere to be found. I left the library and reentered. Titus was in the library room at the end, I select the books and he says his line "Let me see that", then disappears.

Also experiencing this atm as well.

3 random people in the room also doing the quest had it happen to them as well. Not sure what's up but this effectively makes finishing the Craglorn main storyline impossible until fixed. Perhaps something in the latest update broke this quest?

My hubby just did this quest a day or two ago and it completed without any problems.

@Legolaseq you mentioned a Companion. Other quests have become bugged with them active so I suggest trying without them summoned and see if it works correctly.

Also experiencing this relogged in, closed game completely, unsummoned all assistants and companions, restarted quest from the start and he still disappears after the pick up the book pile

Not Legolas, but no companion active for me, never even have unlocked one so likely not the issue here.

Logged in this morning again to try and still no dice. Hung around for a while waiting at the quest area and counted 4 people who all had the same problem and couldn't progress.

Something is definitely up.

Keeping this updated with the solutions ive been given in response to the bug reports ive sent in.

1. Restarting the game after logging off for 15 minutes - Did not work
2. Repairing on the launch - Did not work
3. Removing addons - Did not work
4. Giving up the quest and starting from the beginning - Did not work
5. Unsummoning companions, pets, assistants and non-combat pets - Did not work

Basically none of the suggestions given by customer support have worked and when i encountered other players also on the quest they also said it is bugged. Im now on the step of sending my DxDiag and msinfo32 as requested by customer support.

i have now entered a loop where when i reply to emails they just send me the same steps to do over and over

Bugged for me, too. I tried everything mentioned, nothing's fixed it.

Yeah every day I have been returning to the quest, and literally every person I see run by doing the quest has had the same problem as well.

Legit sit in that area and ask people as they come and they will likely have the same issue. Just hoping enough of them are reporting it so it gets flagged for fixing THIS patch rather then a later.

I am also encountering this bug, on PC EU. The five points in SpeedyBoop's post made no difference for me either.

One thing I did notice, on my second attempt after having abandoned the quest, is that initially Titus is not even in the room -- only after I clear the library, exit outside, and then go back in does he appear.

Made another attempt today and submitted an in-game report, more detail here due to the low character limit in the game report UI:

Upon 'Examining' the final stack of 'Books' in the Ruined Library, the NPC Titus Valerius de-spawns and the Zone Story quest cannot proceed.

Preparation:

1. abandoned quest;
2. ensured no companions or (non-combat) pets active;
3. deleted contents of AddOns folder;
4. repaired game files from Launcher;
5. waited multiple hours since previous game session;
6. re-started quest chain from Belkarth NPC Brown-Tooth.

Steps upon reaching the Ruined Library step in the quest chain again:

• enter library;
• walk fowards until quest changes to Help Titus;
• Titus appears from the door and runs forwards;
• follow Titus;
• Titus disappears (fades out) while running past the first actionable book stack and up the stairs towards the Library room;
• Titus is not visible in the Library room or elsewhere in the Ruined Library;
• without touching any books, exit back to Craglorn, then re-enter the Ruined Library;
• Titus is now visible in front of the book shelves in the Library room;
• activate the first three books and eliminate the resulting spawns;
• final book remaining, Titus is still visible;
• activate final book;
• Titus says his 'Wait, let me see that' line and de-spawns.

Went back to this quest again to confirm its still bugged, only update was an email from the eso team saying they were aware of the problem and are investigating the issue, guess we'll see if it gets fixed in the next patch

Looks like I have this issue too. Tried dismissing companion, restarting, etc. cannot continue!!!!

I noticed a new patch was applied during login this morning so checked if this was fixed, and I can confirm this is no longer an issue for me. Thank you everyone for your input, I hope it is working for you all also.

I just confirmed that my character was able to progress past this point in the quest now as well. If only all bugs were fixed this quickly

This just happened to me last night and again now that I just woke up, I made a separate discussion because I'm not sure if this is the exact same issue that was apparently "fixed" or if this is a new issue.

For me, it was simply the case that one day it didn't work despite trying lots of stuff; I logged out outside the Library but with the quest still active; the next day there was a patch, and upon re-entering the library it worked fine immediately. I took no special action after the patch was released.

All I can think of to recommend is first trying the five generic troubleshooting actions mentioned in SpeedyBoop's post, as Support will ask you to do those anyway. If that does not resolve the issue, submit a Quest support ticked via the in-game interface.

Are you on console or PC? Is it possible the patch has not rolled out to consoles yet?

Reading your thread, it certainly sounds like the same issue.

I just double checked the PS4 patch notes and they do claim that this issue was fixed with the High Isle release on PS4, though it's still currently happening. I hope that the upcoming maintenance fixes this issue for good

As of last night, 03Jul2022, I can confirm that this bug has not been fixed/patched for PS5 NA. Titus still disappears in the library when you inspect the 4th/final book.

I can confirm that this is still a bug, on Xbox. Even my companion vanishes, and can't be resummoned.

I'm on PC, all I did was go back to the quest marker and titus no longer despawned.
