Hey Alcast

I'm trying to get the Sacred Resin in Malabal Tor - I've been farming mobs in the Crimson Cove. I've been doing it so long, I've maxed out my Companion's Heavy, Medium, and Light armor, plus (almost) all weapons.

Am I in the right area? Can you make any suggestions?

No idea if the Crimson Cove mobs drop it, but since it's a different area than overland Malabal Tor I wouldn't count on it.

It dropped for me from some random overland mob, didn't take long.

I think you should update "Strongboxes in the Murkmire zone (Please turn off Auto-loot, so safebox doesn't disappear) ". It is obtained when you unlock. Autoloot will actually help spawn faster.

Make sure to stay in the overland zone and not in any delves or dungeons.

RNG just being RNG.
This was the first lead I got after about 45 mins of farming overland mobs.
I got mine off a Flesh Atronach around Abamath

Whereas I've been farming Glenumbra blacksmithing nodes for a couple hours each day since launch and no lead for me yet.
Getting PILES of ore tho LOL

I got mine off a Flesh Atronach around Abamath

Whereas I've been farming Glenumbra blacksmithing nodes for a couple hours each day since launch and no lead for me yet.
Getting PILES of ore tho LOL

The Glenumbra one is possble to do faster, if you are prepared

What I assume this poster says in his video is that you can possibly get it from survey nodes, if you happen to have a bunch of surveys stashed away.

This lead is the most toxic environment ever created by Zenimax. You can’t blame players for it either. This is all at the feet of those that thought this was even remotely a good idea.

Shadowfen was bad enough… with hundreds of available nodes that respawn quite quickly…. But then to reduce that to less than 20 spawn spots and even less chance of drop….

Is the Sacred Resin from any monster in Malabal Tor? Or any enemy? The first site I checked said “any mob inside Valyn Harbor Inn” which quite confused me as I haven’t found such a building. I switched to a character who’d not done the zone quest so that Valyn Harbor would be full of enemies but now doubting whether it might not drop from these somewhat instanced enemies at all.

I realize this thread is old, but I am hoping someone might know if the drop for the Sacred Resin has changed? I ask because I have killed thousands of mobs starting at Velyn Harbor and moving all over the zone to get the drop. I've tried crabs, treasure chests, overland boss mobs, etc. You name it, I've probably killed it. In well over 20 hours of killing stuff over a 3 week period, I have still not obtained the lead. I'm beginning to wonder if it has changed or is broken.

I know this isn't exactly science but try using a lower leveled character. I've found that I get antiquity leads on low level alts constantly, especially once my main started racking up the antiquities dug up.

Again, purely anecdotal and YMMV, but it is worth a shot since leads are account wide.

Along with that - I've got that lead six times, and five of them it dropped from the undead etc in the Wilding Run area; the last one dropped off a sorcerer in Abamath.
