Problem looting wasps nests

I was looting some wasps nests in Greenshade, NW of Labyrinth wayshrine and NE of Arananga, and for 2 of these nests, after I selected 'E' to open the nest, the item interface (and the wasps nest) just vanished, and I was unable to loot anything.
[edit] Tried 2 more wasps nests after typing the above, and same result: after using 'E' on the nest, the list of items to be looted never appears.
[edit2] It's also not 100% repeatable. I switched to some other skill bar sets, and the problem didn't recur, even after I switched back to the skill bar set I was using when the problem occurred. So I don't know whether it has anything to do with a skill I was using (and perhaps its buff hadn't expired yet).
[edit3] Forgot to mention: these nests are in the same area as nests that must be looted as part of the "Handmade Guardian" quest. I hadn't started this quest yet when I noticed this problem. I don't know if this helps or not, but it might?
