Get rid of COD fees.

Honestly. Lots of folks use COD to avoid being scammed in trade windows, yet we're actively punished for it by being charged a "postage fee" .. in a fantasy video game. Who is collecting this fee? 🙄🤣

Magical mail fairies carrying your mail to other players.

    Somebodies gotta pay them.

On a serious note, no idea. I think stuff like postage, repair fees, etc are meant to be taxes on the player gold supply to try and keep player accumulation of gold in check.

Gold sinks are needed, and having them to attached to convenience things like mail 📬 💌 makes a lot of sense.

It was a gold sink left over from the days when that amount of gold was more noteworthy.

Plainly, it's usefulness as an inflation-check has been questionable at best.

It's not like it's super expensive.

It increases exponentially depending on the amount being requested, so it can get expensive. IMO at this stage of the games life, it's completely unnecessary as an inflation control mechanism.

I'd agree with this but you can turn around and sell crowns and easily make millions in gold if you're inclined to do so. Seems pointless at this juncture in the games life cycle.

Trading via systems built into the game tend to have a fee involved. This is no different.

    No, it literally increases linearly.

It should probably cost more now

Some of y'all are weird. The idea of getting rid of an archaic "shipping" fee that does absolutely nothing for the in game economy (since it's already out of control anyway), that would save you money, and you're against it? What phantom horse do you have in this race?

If anything, we need more true gold sinks, like this one, in the game.

It is only 10 gold? I do not see that as an issue.

This is exactly why a gold sink should be left in place, even if it isn't as effective as it could be.

To see how the price changes; get some gold gear, purple gear, gold tempers, and start a message to attach them to, and watch the amount change. It isn't always just 10 gold.

Just pay it. It's a time saver and a security measure. ZOS is more likely to remove it from the game entirely than remove the fee to use it.

Every little gold sink helps. PC economy might be chaotic but console economy is still fine. The sinks are tuned well.

No, a useless aspect that is not serving its purpose should not be left in place.

This is just an annoyance, not a valuable gold sink.

If the game sold crowns for in game gold at say the current price 1000 gold per crown...I think that would help a lot. I would spend a crap-ton of gold on crowns so I could buy expensive crown homes safely.

I've COD'd someone via mail ONCE - and asked them to pay the COD fee. It was fine

Usually I'll just go do a trade with that person in person - don't have to worry about COD fee then.

ZOS has a variety of gold sinks. Some are small, like the fee for fast traveling without a wayshrine, or repairing your armor at a merchant. Some of them are huge, like the weekly guild trader bid.

No matter the size, the goal of the gold sink is to take a portion of gold circulating out of the economy. Small deductions happening constantly add up to large amounts.

Every guild trader sale has a 3.5% direct gold sink. The other 3.5% goes to the guild, where it probably goes into the bid, also a gold sink. The seller gets 93% of the listing as profit, having basically paid 7% of the value (plus 1% of the total for the listing fee) to complete the transaction.

COD recipients pay 5% of the requested payment extra as a gold sink, minimum of 10 gold.

I'm curious as to why COD users think the gold sink for their transaction method should be removed, but the gold sink for Guild Trader transactions is working as intended.

And if you'd rather that both were removed, what gold sink do you suggest should replace the 3.5-7% tax on every transaction in the game?

The person trusted me on the one Crown sale I made. Saved us all some hassle. He/she mailed me the gold and I immediately bought and gifted the Crown Store house. I would assume ZOS could look at the mail if I tried to filch out and it went smoothly.

I wish I could get the same 3K:1 once on PC NA though. The rate is not as high there, not enough to make me want to sell something I paid real money for.
