I don't need them either, but for a completely different reason: I only have 1 character and I'm happy with it. I wish I could just sell the lessons.Dear ZOS, please let us exchange the Riding Lessons out for Gems or somethin'. Some of us have 18 characters with maxed out mounts.
That or maaaaybe add an extra Character Slot in for a Daily Reward someday for us to use these on.

I thought it was the guild trading economy that caused the inflation, not these occasional 100k gold giveaways. If they give less, players are unhappy with the rewards.Oh my. For the love of Talos stop giving 100k gold or any amount as a daily login reward. It just devaules everything each time. Its not just 100k gold that gets thrown into the economy its hundreds of billions...
People have been complaining about the ingame economy for months and zos keeps giving gold away. Such a sad state of the game.

I never suggested the traders caused the inflation so please reread my post.Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »I thought it was the guild trading economy that caused the inflation, not these occasional 100k gold giveaways. Why would guild traders drive inflation? Sure, there have been attempts to specifically manipulate prices by traders, but that is not inflation. While there is certainly no singular cause of inflation, one of the most obvious is the introduction of new currency into the market.
If a third world government just starts printing currency, inflation is the inevitable result.
In a closed economy like ESO, if gold enters the game faster than it leaves the game, inflation would absolutely be the expected consequence. In other words, if gold Sources>gold Sinks, currency is devalued.
Putting 100k into the login rewards equates to millions and millions of gold being introduced into the economy out of essentially thin air. That absolutely drives inflation. How much is certainly up for debate, but the impact is NOT zero.
Players exchanging gold between them, as a general rule, does not. If anything, the trader system we have helps to combat inflation, as it is one of the most obvious gold sinks that we have.

I think everyone, regardless of their preferred play style or ESO niches, would be happier if those daily rewards they don't find useful could at least be converted to crown gems or something else that's *tradeable*.
The daily rewards already become unavailable if not claimed, with the additional (undesirable) side-effect of also disabling one of the rewards at/near the end of the month, basically penalising you for not logging in every day.I think everyone, regardless of their preferred play style or ESO niches, would be happier if those daily rewards they don't find useful could at least be converted to crown gems or something else that's *tradeable*.
My other good idea is to have a "Daily Reward" NPC that has a selection of basic crap (potion/meal/tristat stuff) and the weekly featured item. Keep the calendar as is just make it so you have to pick it up and then have a choice of what you want or ignore that day and have it auto delete if not claimed.
