waiting for the battle to end while playing alone

While inside an oblivion portal, when a character dies, many times I need to wait for the battle to end, even when there's no battle going on or other players around. I have no idea what to do in those circumstances, because usually there's no one around to resurrect my character and the command /stuck doesn't work. Anyway... Is it a bug or am I missing something? Is there any alternative way to resurrect there without leaving the map and lose the access to that open portal?
