Currently running kilt, 5 tzogvins front bar, 5 briarheart, 1x slimecraw and vma bow. Just collected kinras with 2 precise daggers and want to swap out one of the above 5 piece sets for it. The questions is kinras with tzogvins or kinras with briarheart? This is for group content, maybe not trials but definitely vet dungeons.

Kinras, tzov, swap to VMA 2h instead of bow and you're full meta DPS

DW front bar with vma 2h on back? What should my 2H back bar skills look like?

If you're running Daedric Prey then basically Stampede, Hurricane, flex heal or dot, pets. If you're not into 2-barring pet skills then probably something like Stampede, Carve, Hurricane, Mystic Orb, flex for heal or Crit Surge if you're running trash pots or another dot if heals are covered. Guessing the pet one would parse higher but people with more sorc expertise/testing might be able to report more accurately than me.

You should try to fit a slayer set. Sul-xan is very good in dungeons. Alkosh is also a great set if you are getting synergies, that 6k penetration is better than anything you'd get from a set like Twice-Fanged Serpent or Spriggan's, while also dealing proc damage and debuffing enemies for allies. Nothing beats Relequen for long single target fights. Even Yandir is a decent all around set. VO can be used for great sustain, but IMO it is too weak without a perfected version available.

Pair any one of the above with a non-slayer set. IMO Advancing Yokeda is the best one (on weapons and jewelry). Tzogvins can be nice for bar space and the line of penetration. I wouldn't really recommend Kinras on stam sorc, you already get some Major Berserk from your Greater Storm Atro, and Kinras does nothing during the first 4-5s of any fight.

There was a question about the skills of dw/2h stam sorc. I'd recommend the following:

Frontbar (dw): daedric prey, spammable (either crystal weapon for single target or silver shards for splash damage), bound armaments, volatile familiar, twilight tormentor, flawless dawnbreaker

Backbar: stampede, carve, barbed trap, 2 pets, greater storm atronach

Carve can be swapped to hurricane if the stacks drops a lot, but carve does have the benefit of giving you a damage shield that has its uses. Crystal weapon will be the strongest tool available for stamina sorcerers next patch, but it is strictly single target. It will also make the stam sorcs a bit harder to pilot, since you'll want to cast crystal weapon as your every 2nd skill, and that requires you to plan your rotation a couple of seconds ahead. Also it'll require a lot of barswapping.

What comes to the gear... Ideally you'd want a minor slayer set (relequen for single target, sulxan for fights that have adds and free-ish movement and yandir for the rest) and combine it with either kinras or pillar of nirn (PoN is easier to use). For monster set I do recommend using either selene or storm fist or combine 1pc slimecraw with a mythic.

I'm very partial towards Kinra's + Pillars of Nirn and 2 crit rate pieces, since I'm using 2-handed Kilt doesn't usually stay up so I don't use it. Personally, I don't like Briarheart. It gives a bit of extra self heals, but has a 5 second cooldown after 10 seconds, so I prefer New Moon Acolyte if I can maintain sustain. I believe given the choice, Tzogvin's + Kinra's is the way to go. Next patch I'm swapping Kinra's for Tzogvins, getting rid of a monster helm piece, and adding Sea Serpent's Coil.

my setup has been aegis caller (front bar DW), leviathan and stormfist for the gear. 2h is a VMA 2h

front bar DW skills are crystal weapon, bound armaments, hurricane, trap beast and twilight tormentor
backbar 2h is carve, bound armaments, surge, stampede and twilight tormentor

thats for when im trying to pull big deeps numbers anyway. in situations where i'm not confident in my group and neat the extra heals i'll swap twilight out for the clannfear

i find the twilight tormentor is super nice since it naturally prefers to stay at range and thus out of harm's way
