Please Help Disabled Gamers and add a Camera Lock Setting

Zarathustra333
As a disabled gamer, I really always appreciate games with robust settings that can be customized to suit any player's needs.

I used to love playing ESO before my accident but now with limited functionality of my hands, I can no longer play like I used to. Mostly because I cannot lock my camera behind my character in third person view. I have limited functionality with my hands and cannot constantly be moving a mouse to change the camera to see where I am going or what is around me. I understand that plenty of people like the free floating camera, but it would be great of ESO to allow people to choose a camera lock in 3rd person if they wish. I just think it would be great if ESO were to simply increase the customizations available in the settings so as to make this game more accessible for disabled gamers such as myself. I would love to be able to play this game again!

More options are almost always a good thing. I'm the caregiver for someone who has mobility issues and fine motor control problems in their hands at times so you definitely have my sympathy when it comes to navigating a world designed for able bodied people - it ain't easy and things you never thought about before can suddenly become giant roadblocks to even the simplest of things. Have you tried a gamepad? It makes looking around a lot easier, imo.

I play with a controller on PC because I don't have the space needed for a mouse but also because I have some carpal tunnel and arthritis issues that can make using a mouse and keyboard painful at times. Depending on the controller, it can be a lot easier than using a mouse and keyboard setup. There are a lot of options out there these days and you might find one that helps.

I never wanted to switch to a controller for PC games but since I had to I've fallen in love with my elite 2 and use it even when I don't have to. Another thing that might help depending upon your disability is a trackball style mouse. They're harder to find these days but for certain things they can be a ton easier if you have had issues with a more traditional style mouse.

I can't really help with the camera lock option but maybe someone else has a suggestion.

I think there's a lot of things they miss that would help with accessibility. This would be a good feature.

I agree with second post that a controller is less painful than KBM. I have tried keypads, mice with extra buttons, etc. But they are just too much for the high APM. Controller is much easier but on PC you'll have to remember it is slower than KBM. Also has some 'bad' layout options. Like bar swap is below left joystick where half the time I hit it, I would switch into 1st person view or pop potion, and not swap bars. So I put swap on right joystick press, and it is better but now in heat of battle I'll go to push it and like you said the camera will point at the sky. Many times it doesn't swap point in the distance and I streak off a cliff or something silly in PVP.

Anyway I would love it if there was a better place for swap button and/or as OP says a way to minimize movement of camera, full circle is OK but up/down limited to a short range. Do I ever need to look straight up into the sky in PVP? BTW folks are you looking forward to the OAKEN... ring coming out, that will help me massively in PVP. BTW OP you have piqued my interest, I'll see if I can find anything about the camera and let you know if there are some settings to change. BTW I have a problem of moving the camera too fast and crashing. it's happening in dungeons and BGs like crazy 1 out of 3 matches.
