Favourite Blue Dyes? High Isle Hype!

I've been content with my main's white/tan outfit for a long while now, but High Isle has me ready to embrace my Daggerfall Covenant allegiance again. Since we can't preview locked dye colours (potential QOL improvement there, ZOS!) do you guys have any recommendations for the best blue dyes to try unlocking? I tend to prefer more muted outfit colours over bright and saturated looks.

Current outfit that I'd be dying, probably with gold accents:

Bat

These two are neat together, the blue is deep and looks good on most materials, the gold looks clean and shiny.

That's also a decent blue but might take a lot longer since it's all quests in Daggerfall zones, it seems to have a bit of a purple note to it though.

This one is also great, it's a bit brighter than the two above examples, but not bright, and it seems to dye more matte.

Amazing! Thanks for these. She's already completed the Hero of the Daggerfall Covenant so I'll definitely check that out. I'll start working on the Covenant Conqueror achievement now, since I should be pretty far along that boss list requirement already.

Deshaan Master Explorer looks like a quick one to unlock too

I have almost all dyes unlocked so I figured I'd do a little comparison of some dyes. Let me know if you want to see a specific one.

I put a Covenant flag next to the dye station for comparison too in case you're interested in matching that color. I picked a couple dyes that I think are close to it

In addition to dyes already mentioned, I tend to use Superior Blue a lot.

One i have started using in addition to that is Nightblades Indigo, from the Grand Nightblade Slayer achievement. Here it is on my Khajiit thief.

Shrike Blue is a great blue

It varies a lot depending on what type of blue I want, and also what style/costume I'm dyeing because we all know how weird things can dye sometimes.

But on this outfit I used Indoril Blue to fit the outfit a bit extra (it's House Indoril themed)



I think this one uses the Alik'r Lapsis

Some other blue dyes I like:
New Life Cerulean, Wisp Blue & Covenant Fisher Blue = light ones.
Bugloss Blue & Alik'r Lapsis =Similar to Indoril Blue
Ransacker Blue, Covenant Blue, Dolmen Deep Blue & Nightblades Indigo = darker ones.

The blue I use the most is Alik'r Lapis, and it's easy to get, too. You just have to do the quest-line in Alik'r to get it.

Thanks everyone! Definitely see what you mean about the colours coming out different on each piece of gear. I had to use quite a few different shades across the outfit, and the chest piece blue still isn't matching quite right.



I'm going to keep achievement hunting for more dyes! Nightblades Indigo looks nice, but man, I'd have to enter Cyrodiil again. Might save that for when the PC-EU servers get their upgrade

If you're looking for a good blue, I forget if this is Vivec's Mystic Blue or Blackreach blue, but either are good even if they are a bit bright.

I'm now on a mission to collect all the blue dyes! Simply because it's pot luck how the colour will end up applying to each piece of gear, and none of my current blues are coming out right on my crotch flap.

needs be more different colours added.. pastel ones.. or even bright an dark ones.. i bet the are other ones that locked but.. maybe more achievements can unlock them by other means also to help people unlcok them ..

That is one of the main reasons I collect dyes. When you like to mix styles you will likely need several shades of one colour to make them match up. Sometimes they dye so differently you even need to use a different colour to make it match!
