Penalties for availability to play

It is time to quit penalizing people for not playing at the same time every day. My work schedule changes every day. Sometimes I am off at noon and sometimes I don't get to play till early evening. Sometimes I am only available in the morning. It is annoying that I often miss daily rewards or feeding a horse, because I play in the morning one day and in the evening the next. Can't you just have everything roll over with the writs? Why all these different time schedules?

Also, please have the daily furnishing vendor up all week. Why only the weekend? There is no reason that you can't buy furniture on the weekday! Just change it on Fridays. If there is a time that I can't play, it is usually on the weekends. Family comes in town or we travel. I hate missing the vendor.

We have 24 hours set to a fixed schedule for logging in and grabbing the daily login reward. There is no punishment for not login in at the same time every day. It is also an activity that takes a mere few minutes and that includes starting up the PC.

They spend the week sourcing the furnishings.

There are a lot of games that have special things like rare vendors/bonus events/etc, on the weekends.

Because that's the time that most people have more time free.

edit: and yeah, people with atypical schedules (working nights, working odd shifts like 2 days on/3 days off, being busy on weekends, etc) get the short end of the stick. But like I said, that's the way it is with most online games.
(similarly, companies in the US tend to do their maintenance at times that are good for those time zones... while being less ideal for Europe or Oceania. It's just how it is.)

So far the answers are, "Well that is how it is with most online games." If something kind of stinks in most online games, wouldn't ESO want to be better than that? Being hard on people with shift work doesn't seem like a goal to achieve. Also, what would it hurt for me to be able to buy a tree from a vendor on a Monday? It is like all these answers are saying, "Well, it works for me, so please don't change anything to make it better for others."

Yes, I hate the 20-hour timers so much too. My schedule also varies a great deal, and I often have work or other stuff that gets in the way of playing at roughly the same time. Often when it's late evening I just decide not to do the things I wanted to (rnd, bg die instance) as it would mess up my schedule. Sometimes I do them, though I can't on the next day because I can only play early that day.
Honestly it just leaves me with a sad feeling cause it's a game that should be relaxing instead of lacking such simple measures to accommodate players.

Actually there exists an easy solution

    Stadia

I log in to feed horses in bath tub, but that just go to bathroom or while boss isn't looking login on phone

Luxury and golden vendor have 3 days
Trials you got a week timer
    Dalies you got 24 hours

Horses are 20 hours so you got 4 hour wiggle time. If you miss itz then just go next day. Some of my characters took 2 years to finish mount training.

You can buy space with gold or crowns or trading them vice versa. There's cp passives and alliance war passive for speed. There's a cp passive of you really wanted for stamina too.

Tldr: join us on stadia. You lose nothing

Stadia requires a very fast ISP IIRC.... not everyone has that available.

    Steam deck, steam link

Most timers aren't that bad, but if it truly matters there's some solutions that exist.

Eventually mount training doesn't matter. For the mounts it does the undaunted festival drops training items for it too.

If you are PC there's an add called lazy mount training too. Another thing is snugpod house is right easy way to feed horses

What I do is plan years in advance. Have those characters sit stables

Now of load screens are the problem get a portable SSD nvme 2.0

There's many solutions to this problem. The only thing would be more undaunted events is needed

    Edit

The speed requirements on phone are far easier to make with stadia

Well, I'm not using steam period. Nor am I interested in stadia. Anything that puts another layer of lag between me and the game is strictly a no no....

Mount training? Total non sequitur. I have no problem with that - I just make new characters, and park them at the trainer in Vivec until they get speed to 40.

I'm supposing you failed to quote appropriately, since you quoted my statement about the realities of stadia and fast internet but then went off on a tangent.

Okay to summarize the so called tangent, there's multiple solutions available. The timers in eso are respectable and there's no reason to change them.

It is ironic that many will say that, but say that ESO shouldn't follow other online games when someone suggests to do something useful that is done in other games. Some will speak against ANYTHING you suggest or want that is different than now, sometimes even changes that ZOS says are coming!

I'm not sure penalising players for having other IRL priorities is a particularly healthy approach. I think that deliberately designing for addictive behaviour in the tech industry should be discouraged, but that is another topic.

I don't see why we can't have a light loosening of time limits tbh. I've had times where I was a few hours off a login and missed a daily reward. Not the biggest deal, obviously, but extremely annoying nonetheless.
