MYTHIC Idea: Ring of True Seeing/Inviso

There is already a ring that is replacing roll dodge with shield and in that vein I have another idea

Ring of True Seeing/Inviso

Positive effect: anti-inviso which means you automatically can SEE all inviso/stealth/etc at all times (maybe even throw in the antiquities skill that sees chests and stuff)
and/or additional effect Turn your stealth button into NB shadowy disguise skill (so anyone has access to inviso on demand)

Negative effect: cap crit chance at 30-50% or lower, or reduce w/s dmg by X% Or reduce RANGE of all non-melee skills by 50%

Some good suggestions below. Like the sight being Scion outline vision, other idea have a short range of the vision, make it a detect (although I was thinking it is just YOU the ringwearer who would see them, not detect where they lose stealth and everyone can see them, where you as ringwearer would have to attack or use other method to break their stealth)
Some other negative effects, take X% more range damage, take more damage from invis/stealthed opponent, have 5 minute cooldown if ring removed

I think a far better and more thematic negative for the set would be to increase sneak attack bonus damage taken to the wielder.

You want to hunt them down and tear them apart. They realize you're the one tracking them. What assassin wouldn't target them first?

The crit cap is nothing, especially for PvP. In fact, it would reduce the effects of using impen making it even less of a drawback for using the mythic. Heck, a player would just limit how much crit in their build making is a pointless negative effect and actually giving them a boost to damage.

The reduced range is not possible to implement since it would not harm a melee build.

Considering there are a variety of extremely effective means to pull players out of stealth and prevent them from immediately returning to stealth the drawback would have to be notable and neither suggestion is much of a drawback.

The crit cap is more to reduce the 100% crit from the shadowy disguise/sneak bonus. Which even though I put the 'true seeing' first, it is more of an after thought. I'm more interested in the changing sneak button into inviso ability for anyone with the ring. The idea is to limit ganking by awareness but also to allow any class to gank but withless effectiveness.

I know they have a set that gives detection and another item that when you are at full health reduces gank attack by 40%. This would just be another way to have counterplay for the most terrible 1 shot ganking that has been the worst suppressor of people enjoying and learning PVP for years.

Another suggestion I had was that all the under 50 and beginner PVP areas should NOT allow inviso or 1 shotting.

Yeah I like the idea that if they can still hit you from stealth/invis while you can see them they get bonus damage to you. BTW the idea is that YOU ONLY see them not that you pull them out of stealth so anyone who doesn't have the ring isn't benefiting even if you are grouped up with them. That's what is different than the detect versions.

There are any number of negative effects. Especially if the ring gives the 'true sight' AND sneak/inviso button BOTH. The idea is to turn anyone into a gank stopper, who can also go invisible but not get the huge 1 shot capability. Thematically I like the range decrease as something that effects your eyes.

Another thing could be that the ring give better vision so you ADD 5m to ranges but you can't see good close range and take more damage from melee.

For a buff like that, the negative has to have a huge impact. Just using revealing flare already messes with stealth players, so having a piece of equipment that frees that skill for one that could be used for dmg or healing, AND it's always on?
I think it should be something like -

Detect invisible enemies at all times when they're in a short radius, BUT you take more damage from ranged attacks

This way stealth players won't be able to sneak away from you when engaged in combat, but you can still be hunted from a long distance.

I think another alternative is to make it have detect enemies like when you use Scion (you see the outlines) at all times, but enemies can still enter stealth. At least that way if they hide behind a wall you can still track them down and you can put pressure by never letting them leave stealth.

Very close to what I was thinking. You SEE them but don't pull them out of stealth/inviso without using normal methods to do that like attacking them. And as I said in another post it is not a cool as 'detect' that pulls everyone out of stealth and other players can see them, it would only be the ring wearer until they did something to really pull them out. Also another neg effect could be once you take ring off it won't work for 5 minutes, to make you have to commit to using it.

Being able to one-shot is a game design issue that Zenimax control and cannot be eliminated in only one campaign. Granted, it is also a build design issue since some builds are better than others at how well they mitigate damage.

As for not allowing NBs to sneak in sub-50 PvP, what skills should we not allow for the other classes? If a skill from one class is forbidden, for a class that lacks in defense, then we shall have to find a juicy skill from the other classes to forbid their use.

I always think it is best to help players improve. They have access to skills to pull players out of sneak and stealth find sub-50 and should learn to use it if they want to pull players out of stealth.

I always think it is best to help players improve. They have access to skills to pull players out of sneak and stealth find sub-50 and should learn to use it if they want to pull players out of stealth.

As I said they have a new mythic coming out, "Sea-Serpent's Coil (1 item) While at full Health, you gain 40% damage reduction. After taking damage while at full Health in combat, you gain Serpent's Rebuke for 10 seconds, snaring yourself by 40% and gaining Major Berserk and Major Courage, increasing your damage done by 10% and Weapon and Spell Damage by 430. The damage reduction does not apply while Serpent's Rebuke is active."

If that isn't to lessen the impact of gankers I don't know what is. Look it snares you too so they don't want it to be used to chase gankers down but just give you a fighting chance. Similar to another monster set that give huge amount of resistances for just standing still I think.

It is a shame that ZOS for whatever reason (scared of backlash from vocal minority) won't just directly change stuff that is obviously bad for the game but I do like that they keep coming up with ways to mitigate it. Only problem is that the very beginner players who are most affected are not privy to the options when they need them.

BTW there is absolutely NO reason ZOS can't disable one skill in under 50 PVP, they have no-cp, no proc set, battle spirit, etc. Also the idea that just changing/disabling one skill on one class would require changing skills on other classes is patently absurd. They nerf or buff various skills from various classes all the time.

There are other skills like sweeps, streak, netch, etc that are a bit OP but nothing is as game breaking as inviso, that's why it shouldn't be allowed against beginners. Normal stealth is already good enough while having some counterplay. But I'll turn the question back to you why should only one class have something so insanely powerful and inviso. Back to the topic, this is why I propose the ring that turns stealth into inviso, by your logic all classes should have the same stuff, right?
