**NOTE: This isn't a bait or flame post. This is an actual assessment. Even though I do express my disappointment.**
Pretty much took a break to play ER for a bit. After a couple play throughs and setting up some pvp toons, I checked out a few other games like Conan Exiles, Blessed, Black Desert, etc., Got everything set up, I'm good to go and thought I'd come on back as even though performance and balance issues always persisted, I miss things like BGs, IC, and Cyro.
Day 1:
Awkward. Couldn't even log on at first. Got a "queue".
Weapons still like to be in my feet. That's cool I guess.
Get into a few BGs. It's 80+% DK/Templar and 90% desync.
Dark Convergence is still in the game. Forgot. It's been a minute.
I figured - eh, I've been away for a while. Maybe I've been spoiled. Perhaps I'll get used to it again. (Even Conan Exiles and Blessed Unleashed ran significantly better than ESO. That's saying something.)
I won't even start in on the AWA nonsense.
Day 2:
Still awkward. 2 crashes. 1 login Queue.
BGs much the same. Muscle and lag memory back in full swing. Started to feel normal again.
9 toons. All different classes/specs. Multiple games, duels, campaign/IC visits.
Healing is out of hand. Desync and performance are in fact just worse than before.
Dark Connoyance exists. Less annoying depending on the toon I'm on though.
Forgot about Plaguejoke though.
Started FPS hitching on bar swap. Yay!
Also - Why does playing my DKs or Templars feel like I'm playing an entirely different game?
Day 3:
Slightly less awkward. Nestling in on the back end of my 36 hour plan.
1 Crash, 1 Login Queue.
Good ol' FPS hitching on bar swap is back. Oh how I've missed thee.
Had 3 BGs throughout the day where it was myself on a NB or Warden at the time, 9 DK's, and 2 templars. Sweet.
One BG had a full 4 man Sorc/WW team. I'm guessing they're getting ready for the new mythic. (The rest of us were DK/Templar btw.)
So yeah...I'm not sure how I feel.
I think if I hadn't gone to check out another game, I'd likely still be sitting around every day like that meme with the dumpster fire in the background going "this is fine."
I have high hopes for the server update. I know it's PC only coming up, but based on some assessments from PTS folk, it sounds like there's a possibility of some stuff actually getting smoothed out due to the data center update. We'll see though?
I'm pretty concerned about the next update. But I guess I can just chill and play a card game until stuff runs better?
