Breaking News: killing the Echoing Hollow boss Walks Like Thunder completes the Stone Atro endeavour. Even though there aren't any... unless the totems somehiw count.

Just gave this a try and it worked on the totems, thank you! Just run in and attack and the boss spawns them almost immediately. Kill them and just leave again without worrying about the boss.

New theory: there's several things which the game classifies as stone atronachs but which aren't called that and use different models, so someone at ZOS looking at lists of enemy categories thought it was a reasonable endeavour and missed that players have no way of finding these atronachs except by chance.

(I've heard that's very common in game design - if you're already got an enemy that already does everything you need and just needs a new model and maybe a small change like being stationary instead of moving around you do that instead of making a new one.)

Thank you so much for those posting about Walks like Thunder. It worked perfectly and got the endeavor. Who knew?!? And plenty of folks there doing the same thing.

Did two of the three for today, usually I can do them all easily and I am really hoping this is not a new trend.

for sure moongrave fane, but can i say, what terrible endeavours. moongrave fane is my most hated dungeon b/c of the cube mechanic. kill 1 player in cyro and complete a trial are both over the top as well (kill 1 player might be so bad depending on how active cyro is when you're on)

There is a mini WLT boss in the Public Dungeon in Blackwood (the one with the Hist and the scaly clothe scraps) I wonder if those totems count?

I have also heard from a guildie that stone husks might count for the endeavour but I cannot 'independently verify' this information.

I'll check, but what I remember is that they count as Storm Attronachs, not Stone Attros.

I didn't kill the boss and only took down one totem and I got the endeavers. Dunno what's going on there.

Some of the enemy classifications are really... uh, [snip] weird.

The energy orbs in Depths of Malatar count as Netch kills. Seriously.

Thanks for the tip about WLT. It worked for me.

Then again, there are a lot of people there who don't seem to understand that if you bring your 300k+DPS ult dump, then he dies before he spawns the totems, and then it screws everyone over. I had to take him 3 times today just to get enough totems to count, and on the third I just dragged him all around the arena and out of everyone's AoEs so he would stay alive long enough to actually spawn totems.

If it's not counting for you, make sure you're getting hits in on the totems instead of him. And make sure you're not with a bunch of people who need to show off their leet DPS skillz by not understanding that in order for him to count for the endeavor, they actually need to hold damage and give him time to do the mechanic...

@tomofhyrule I agree completely. Situations like this is where I love being on my healer. She can spam weave resto light attacks with rapid regen to help others while keeping her own damage down. She did toss shards on the stone totems when she saw them but basically supported the idea of trying not to burn down the boss. He's not that dangerous when there are a handful of players there.

What’s funny is that is the opposite of the usual problem for Walks Like Thunder.

Even people who have a high DPS build could aggro the boss and attack the totems without burning it down in seconds. The simplest way would be just to use light attacks, even with full CP and the best weapons you can get you're not going to do that much damage from light attacks.

I think some people just don't think about it and use the same rotation for everything, or they've misunderstood and think they need to kill the boss not the totems, so they're trying to out-DPS everyone else to make sure they get credit and end up messing it up for everyone in the process.

Want to know what would be cool?

Create a Journal Tab titled something like “Tamrielic Bestiary”. Here we can find a Lore description and native region (includes zones/dungeons/etc) for every single creature which has appeared in ESO.

We can unlock the descriptions by one of these methods:
    1. Killing the creature
    2. Using a new Tool meant observe the creature

Feel like this would be very helpful for Endeavors and the monster trophy achievements. Also don’t give us Stone Atro endeavors lol.

Hello ZOS ! Promoting content that doesn't work : the box in moongrave fane is not moving all the time while light attacking or heavy attacking - Next time FIX your content before promoting it in endeavors (kill stone atronachs) THANKS

Not cool having them for a daily endeavor.

Or they aren't even trying for the endeavor and people who doing endeavors are dragging out their daily. It's not like the game tells you those are stone atronachs.

I don't think you even need to tag the totems personally. Just be involved in the battle. I'm pretty sure I only hit 2 or 3 and I got credit.

Tried to do it the Walks-Like-Thunder way, proved impossible.

Fortunately I was able to quickly group on the spot with another three like-minded players that saw the futility of it all and run Moongrave Fane instead.

    Great success.

Apparently, the totems in the Walks like Thunder Murkmire w/b count as stone atronachs. Don't even have to kill the boss.

    Thank you for that :)

I went there, but I guess the news had spread cuz there was a large group of players there. Couldn't even get 1 totem before the boss dropped :/ Decided to go to Moongrave instead.

True. With lots of others there because of the endeavor, I went straight at the boss as did many others. Never went after the totems, but got credit for 4 stone atronachs first run thru, then picked up the final on the second time thru.

Grouping probably helps with credit. However, in one attempt at this, the boss went down w/o any totems spawning. Common sense certainly seems to be uncommon at times.

Endeavors like the 5x Stone Atronachs, instances in which all 3 weekly endeavor options (or 3+ of 5 daily endeavors) are PvP in nature, etc... I think the configuration/tuning of the endeavor system is likely a work in progress (which I expect will never be attended to; seems like problems that fester for years are SOP in ESO... or perhaps it is by design, i.e. it is not intended that "casual" players like me be able to complete a full quota of endeavors reliably, which I suppose would itself be a message of sorts).

Overall, things like this leave me with the distinct impression ESO is a game the developers themselves do not play.

I've noticed a growing trend of the Endeavors getting harder and harder for less reward.

This week is SEVEN dungeons for only 220 seals.

Every previous week has been six for 250.
