Save A Character Design

So as far as i know, there's no game that does this option, but is there a way we could save a character look for the next character we make? For some it might seem silly and they would want other characters that looks different, But any way we can do it? I want to create a sorceror with the character design i managed to get with the design i made for my necromancer and lets face it, getting a character to look right that we like is quite difficult

I would LOVE to see them add a 'save as template' option or something.
Elden Ring has this and it is a huge QoL joy!

The closest I've been able to get OP is to screenshot each section of the character sliders.
It works ok enough, but its pretty ponderous to keep alt-tabbing.
I decided next time I'm just going to use my phone to snap pics of the sliders, be a bit easier I think.

On PC if you have an appearance token, you can view the character with the apperance you want exit and then make a new one and the sliders will be the same as on the previous character you viewed in the change apperance menu.

the body type and face type sliders don't change to, but just go by memory or screenshot them

I would love to see this in the game! I like making alternate versions of characters and/or family members of my existing characters, and it would be nice to have a template to go off of to ensure that the new character turns out well.
Still hoping that one day hair dyeing will be an option. We know it's canon in universe already thanks to a book in the Manor of Masques! (House of Reveries: The Troupe)

Yeah it would be easier if we can save a template, basically we can do that with weapons, so why not our character

Wait until there's a PTS cycle that copies the characters for your server. You can go in and use a free token to copy the sliders. You'd have to be on PC though.

I did not know this and it will certainly help to morph certain favorite characters when making new ones. I will test this. Thanks ever so much :)

That reminds me. I played a game, I think it was Mass Effect, that codified your character's appearance into a code you could copy and paste if you wanted to use the appearance again. It basically saved all your slider settings in that string of letters. I'm pretty sure that could work for ESO. Even the triangle must have coordinates of some kind.

I have SS of the settings for a two of my characters for this reason. Good suggestion.

Unfortunately, I've had this fail numerous times. Sometimes, the sliders appear to be in the same spot, but when I create the character it looks off. When this happens and I go back and use a token to view the appearance of the new character, I find the sliders are actually in the default position. It's happened enough, and I remake identical characters enough, that I've just written down the slider positions (e.g. hips +1, waist +3, where +3 = 3 units from the left) for the characters I like. It works better (for me) than a screenshot because different chapters have different backgrounds and lighting, and different computer screens zoom in differently.

It always work for me, only thing that's not the same is the body type and face type silders.

Note* you have to move the sliders, when you create a new character the face is default, but the sliders are in the right position s you just move them back and forth and you should be good.

    Old character:

    New character:

    After readjusting the sliders

After viewing your old character and then creating a new one you just have to readjust the sliders and the new character will look exactly the same as the old one.

I'd like to see this too. I only play what I consider to be one character - a small no-melee magically inclined wood elf. So it has been since 2007 (Oblivion and Skyrim) and so it continues in ESO. I simply have numerous variants of her where the only difference is her class (and the tiniest name changes I can get away with). Same race, look, hair color etc. Our approach when we start a play session is that she decides which class/spec to play as casually as she decides what costume/outfit or hair style to where that day. That said, I've gotten very, very good at faithfully replicating her look when creating an additional variant of her.

You can practice on the pts when your server is up there, and then use the live server. Use the template character that comes with a lot of crowns, then buy up appearance tokens and practice over and over. Then go to live and make another character.

A feature like this would be very much welcome. Blade x Soul had it, and it was lovely to be able to load a preset you had made to tweak it until you were satisfied.

I solve this issue by refining characters on the pts, then I overlay my pts screenshots on top of the live client using a program called on top replica. This allows me to exactly copy every single slider, including the triangle ones. (I put Google Chrome in full screen mode and open the screenshot inside of it to get the screenshot full screen, then replicate the Google Chrome window with on top replica- on top replica allows you to alter the opacity of the window to see through/click through it, letting you precisely match every slider while the screenshot is overlaid on the live client)

    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause

Final Fantasy XIV has that option and it's really useful. I agree with you OP.

I was just about to mention FFXIV! I typically make all my characters look the same... just a different class. Usually it was male Breton for Magicka and male Imperial for Stamina builds... mainly because I cannot stand playing an unattractive character- so I could never play Argonian, Khajiit, Dark Elf, High Elf, Wood Elf. I just could never get an attractive version of these races... while my Breton and Imperial look like twins... albeit the Imperial looks a tad bit older.

However, recently I created a couple of new characters and took time to play around with character creation a bit more... and actually created an attractive male Dark Elf!! I then decided to try with High Elf and was shocked that I finally created a perfect (IMO) male High Elf!! He is now my main, and since I'm loyal to the AD... it makes more sense to have a High Elf being the 'savior' instead of a Breton or Imperial. B) Here I've been playing since 2015, and finally created decent DE and HE characters!! LoL!

I've actually never played FFXIV so frankly i have no idea what the game is about. It seems a bit steep to charge for the game plus charge for a sub
