A fairly mediocre nightblade that occasionally kills people

May I suggest a better way to phrase the question:
Which class is the best one in your opinion/experience for PvP at the moment and why is it dragonknight?

Last option makes no sense. Your question is which is the best, of course people are going to be better at other classes and it might be better in their hands that the average, but that doesn't make it the best class.

You have to assume everyone is of the same skill level on each class, and almost undeniably a DK - specifically MagDK - would always win.

Dk for sure. Class has unhealable and unavoidable damage for most other classes. After practising dueling on magdk for an hour I was already doing better than on my main that I duelled years with...
I used to think that PvP was a tragedy, but now I realize, it's a comedy.

    DK by a mile.

Unlimited sustain, massive healing, massive damage, innate tankiness. It reminds me of the Perma-bats days in the first year of the game.

At this point it even bombs better than my harmony necro. :D

My rules of thumb this patch, is that any build needing Wretched Vitality for sustain is C tier. Any class needing Vampirism to survive is C tier.

I honestly can't vote as I haven't played them all. I can tell you that any nightblade is trash. If someone does well on that class it's using weapon skills or skills from other areas instead of class skills. And it would also take many months if not years of practice. That says enough right there. Mag sorc isn't that bad honestly but IMO you have a disadvantage in that you have to use light armor mostly to have good attacks and that leaves you less tanky than other classes. I'd say it's average or slightly better. I'm on magplar now and the heals are way better and it has the best execute so it's definitely the strongest of the 3 IMO right now. Haven't played Necro, DK, or Warden.

DK is pretty insane but there’s more to pvp than just getting killing blows or 1v1ing. I think magplars basically just as good and bring a lot more healing to friendlies so i rate Templar higher.

True, I believe DK is the best at the moment. But still any player with any class can be really good and look OP.

The totally unbalanced state of PVP atm hugely favours DK and Templar to such an extent that 'immortal' builds are more common than ever before.

And even casual players, on any class, are able to run with high damage with virtually infinte sustain and heals while remaining extremely mobile and resistant.

You've got 2 free proc sets as a DK, that do more damage than most actual 5 piece dot proc sets...
Not to mention heals that scale off of offensive stats, mitigation, passive damaging buffs, great class buffs, best cc in the game, etc

So a DK is basically the PvP Burst DPS, Tank, attrition/pressure dot dps, healer, CC class!

PvP & classes and roles are beyond screwed. Classes and skills need a complete overhaul to address this, which wont happen, so DK for life!

Started playing again after a few years away. Play BG only now.Tried my nb which i mained before, but need to rebuild it because it is to squishy now. Having fun on my stam warden though, the change that magicka skills scale with weapon dmg made wardens heal skills very powerful now on it 🙂 fun time to hybrid!

Can take a lot of damage and deal a lot!

    Favorite Foods and Potions
    https://media.giphy.com/media/3otPoTggaYFNd1FdAI/giphy.gif
    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

From a no cp standpoint, I'd argue dk with templar behind it. Dk has a lot going for it, and I think that as a class they benefitted most from stat hybridization. They were always a good pick, but right now they have a lot in their toolkit.

And, may I just say, I despise fossilize with every fiber of my being.
