I've never been a fan of buying skill lines on alts, but...

And yes I know about Harvest Map but the sparkle enhances even that add-on by letting you see chests from a distance as you ride by where you think one might be. Also in dungeons as you speed by following streaky joe the terrain avoidance master

This is one skill line I would buy just for that perk.

Yeahbut, the 3D environmental pin (in the environment, not the pin on the map) from Harvest Map is visible from a much greater distance than the sparkle.

I know. But even using that, you need to get closer without the passive to see if there's actually one there - especially at night.

i need to check my config on the harvest map 3d pins, because they dont show up for me in dungeons, but work fine in overland lol

Same and I too was thinking of looking for some setting I might have missed lol. They used to work by default but not now.

I know. But even using that, you need to get closer without the passive to see if there's actually one there - especially at night.

Oops. Yeah, right. Duh. Sorry. I forgot for a second that while the pin is always there, the chest might not be.

Regarding dungeons, I've noticed recently that sometimes the pins work, and sometimes they don't. It seems random and it's weird.

I had that passive sparkle for the chests . It looked so out of place I redid all the points leaving that one out.

The 3D pins don’t work in dungeons due to a ZOS limitation. Apparently zos did not want chest farming in dungeons to be too easy.

Simple solution: I got Keen Eye for Treasure Chests on all 18 characters by doing leads.

After finishing antiquities on one character I was like 'nope, never doing that again', and this comes from someone who farmed psijic line on 15 toons, but since I also refuse to buy skill lines from the store, I guess there'll be no sparkly chests for any of my alts ^^;;

I didn't mind the grind on my 7 alt characters (so far) as it is a nice way to get some series binging done.

The only line I would pay to unlock would be the assault line, but I would actually have to get one character to 10 first. I don't see that happening before I succumb to old age though.
