People are probably getting tired of me saying this on every thread about new Categories for Cosmetics, but I'll keep bringing it up for the ones who haven't seen it hehe.
Adding new Categories alone won't matter. It'll make sorting and finding specific Cosmetics easier, but they would need to add more layers to the model in order for us to have more Cosmetics, not additional Categories. The problem is a lot of Cosmetics sit on the same layer, such as Facial Hair and Adornments like the Bosmer antlers. This is why we can't stack them. The devs would need to give us more layers in order for us to stack more Cosmetics, which I really wish they would do. Oracle/Blind Eyes shouldn't be lumped in with Facial Hair, having a beard shouldn't prevent your Bosmer from having antlers, etc.
I already know ZOS would split Categories if they added more layers, yes. That doesn't change the fact that other people might think it's as simple as adding new Categories when it's more involved than that. What I know doesn't matter, assuming people are asking for X so Y can happen isn't a good assumption if those people don't know X has to happen. I'm just explaining it so other people who don't know can understand.I agree this is something which would be useful. It wouldn't be so bad if all the eye cosmetics were in the same category, even if it was one which made no sense (like facial hair) but at the moment they're all over the place.
But also I'd very much like my crafter to be able to have the missing eye to go with his eye patch (I loved that detail when I first created him, then they changed it a few years later) but it means losing his beard, which also looks strange to me.People are probably getting tired of me saying this on every thread about new Categories for Cosmetics, but I'll keep bringing it up for the ones who haven't seen it hehe.

Isn't it a reasonable assumption that anyone asking for a dedicated category for eye cosmetics is also asking for ZOS to do any work necessary behind the scenes to make that category functional?
I know you know they've done it before - when they first added cosmetics to the crown store and split them into the current categories instead of just face markings and adornments as they are in the character creator. So you know it's possible, pointing out that it would be one of the steps in the process of fulfilling this request just seems redundant. Like explaining that if they added a new skill line they'd also need to add new animations, or adding new motifs means setting the dye channels for them.
