Just curious and keeping it simple. Not interested in net worth counting potential sales of iems, mats and crowns you have. Just how much gold do you have in the bank and/or characters?

Active trader so make a good bit of gold. Spent a lot on motifs when cranking out grand master crafter.

I make more gold than I spend so it keeps increasing. I only keep 2k gold on each of my characters and the rest in the bank which helps to guard against impulse purchases.

I try to keep around 1-5mil. gold on my character, rest is turned into chromium and/or used to flip to prevent my value from being eaten up by inflation. I have purchased all the 3+mil gold houses, have the grand master crafter and all the furniture plans I want, so now I'm just trying to keep it flowing.

So I'm not the only one :P I do the same but keeping 1k on each alt. When it goes to total gold... Well I decorated my house once, years ago when prices were much lower and I'm happy with it till this day, so without the need of buying furnishings I'm sitting above 100 mil, if I would count my mats, let's just say I'm not worried about being broke in the game.

I used to think it was quite difficult to make gold. Now I have pretty much got the hang of it. There are a lot of viable methods, just got to find one that suits you.

I like to sit on a lot of gold, I have no real plans to spend a lot of gold. But it's good to have, in case something interesting shows up in a store one day. :p:)

I will likely never be hurting for gold again.

At the end of each character's "shift" I habitually bank it in increments of 5,000g.
That way no one character has more than 5,000 on them (I do occasionally stealth thru Cyrodiil ;) )
And it's nice to watch the pool grow, now if we could only earn interest on banked gold :D

To any newer player reading this who's also frustrated about feeling broke:
I was where you are when I started ESO a little over 2 years ago.
I came in blind (to ESO), just had my knowledge from previous ES titles.
As I do with most open-world games I wanted to just pick a direction and explore, kick-over rocks and main quests and Stuga be damned. Mostly bcuz I hate being told what to do, I make my own way tyvm lol

Very soon I realized I needed gold (duh), more frustrating was that all the junk I was picking up was worth exactly 0 gold.
I need better gear, the stuff I had needed repair, the most basic sword costs HUNDREDS of gold omg!? (and where do I buy arrows for my bow haha)
I went on like this for a couple days until I actually learned daily quests give gold (duh again) and as I made levels I started finding loot that actually HAD value, it grew from there.

2 years later I have over 23mil banked and I've certainly also bought quite a bit, so it's not all 2 years of pure savings. No one handed me anything, all self-made.

My point is, it WILL come to you. Just PLAY the game, have fun, explore (Loot EVERYTHING).
There are no shortcuts or easy-mode in this game, it is a time-investment by design.
But the gold and all the shiny things will come in time, you just have to go earn them for yourself. :)

I mean, I am in a trading guild. I don't care that much about it and use it mostly to get rid of stuff cluttering my bank (furniture plans, motifs, set items...), but I meet the 250.000 sales minimum each week; sometimes 500.000 or up to a million, depending on how well things sell that week.

But as soon as I have it, all is spent for housing :D It's so costly, especially if you construct your own buildings. I think my Markarth Dwemer style Deadlands fortress was 4,5 million gold so far - only the structure (walls, roof, stairs, doors, windows) - furniture not included.

I'm almost at 20 mil at the moment. Had almost 30 and then spent 15m of it on the coral crates when they came out, so coming back up the ladder now. The only things I use gold for are crown stuff and motifs/styles. I don't do housing, so that helps me keep my money. I sell probably 500k a week on average, almost entirely crafting mats. Trading isn't a focus of mine, I'm only in one trading guild and I just throw things on there when I build up a stack.
PC NA, CP2200+. Character creation is the true endgame.
