Unfortunately my concerns were confirmed, I started the prologue and listened to all dialogues but after around halfway through the quest I again started to skip all dialogues.

reason is again the same writing style I disliked in the last expansions, e.g.:

- NPC: thats the cave where the enemy went to
- Me: what do you think we will find in the cave
- Real me thinking at the moment "mushrooms and berries, of course"

Also all the "what is your opinion on" or "what do you think " .. followed by an already obvious information questions by the vestige shows me that we are still affected by the brain damage we suffered in one of the previous expansions.
Will the vestige be ever be able to think on his own and no longer be forced to ask the most obvoius and ridiculous questions?

a (ban worthy?) critique to the writing (or decision maker) team:
Everyone has to start at some point but after years there should be some measureable improvement. Something I do not see in the last few expansions.

I take the prologue as the confirmation that my decision to not preorder the expansion was right, maybe I will get it on sale.

Hand holding combined with the assumption that many players will go on multiple day hiatuses between Quest segments, so we need CONSTANT reminders of what we're doing and what we just did.

I've complained about this kind of writing as well and others have literally justified it by saying they never complete a Quest in one sitting. They'll do an objective or two and then drop the Quest for like, a week, and the reminder dialogue helps them get back into it.

There is an easy solution for long time breaks, its optional dialogues in which the players can asks for an update. Making the reminders mandatory is poor writing.

I hate to say it, but maybe some players need the hand holding?

Not me, I hasten to add. But its like with test audiences for movies who don’t get nuance & so script gets changed. You also see it on US tv shows (& sadly in UK now too) - the recap after an ad break.

Are people that stupid? Apparently so…..

Exactly what we had in earlier quests.
To be the Chosen One really sounds like lots of fun,
But in the end you'll just be someone's lunch
