Sets for unusual vampire build?

My little Bosmer Stamden ran into a couple of bloodfiends and now she’s a child of Mother Lamae. I’m having fun with this from an RP point of view, but it’s given me a dilemma…

Do I carry on with her as a stamina based character (she’s currently a bow/two-handed build), despite vampire mechanics favouring magicka, or do I re-spec her as a magden despite being a Wood Elf?

And what would be some good sets to get the most bang for my buck out of either scenario?

For context, I’m a casual player, mostly doing solo PVE content. I’m not really bothered about being meta, competitive in PvP, or tough endgame content like vet trials at the moment. I would like to keep pushing the types of content I can solo, though, as my character develops. I’m looking to hit hard enough for quick, satisfying trash fights and enough survivability/sustain to stand a chance soloing more difficult content and solo arenas like maelstrom. Other than that, it’s all about what might be fun to play.

Any suggestions for sets that might be fun to play (or even just look good!) on a stamina vampire or magicka wood elf would be gratefully received!!

Stage 1 vampirism increases the cost of all your non-vampire skills, so vampirism is a combat detriment unless you use vampire skills. Stage 3 gives you the really powerful "Undeath" passive, but makes your non-vampire skills cost even more.

For a stam build, Bosmer get a lot of Stamina Recovery, so you might not even notice that much of a difference in Stage 1. You could always run a bleed build with 2H or Dual Wield.

For a magden vampire, I would get War Maiden, which buffs Magic Damage skills. So it buffs Deep Fissure, Arterial Burst (morph of the vampire skill Eviscerate), Fetcher Infection, Necrotic Orb, etc. Magdens get a passive Magic Damage buff and a lot Magic Damage skills, and vampire adds a powerful melee spammable (Arterial Burst), and War Maiden buffs all of this. You might be able to get your Arterial Burst tooltip up to 11k damage or more. Per hit! I used this with Dual Wield on a magsorc, and it was really fun! Lots of burst, and it turns you into a melee build (you can use 2H on mag, too).

It sounds like you like the vampire flavor, so I say go for it! You can use the Armory system to make a second build for yourself (like a mag build) and just switch back to stam. In fact, I think you can even make one build with vampirism and one build wothout it and switch between them at the station any time you want. Without having to cure or be reinfected. If that's true, maybe someone else can explain how.

I'd suggest keeping it at stage 1 and using it mostly for the sneak speed and the Swarming Scion Ultimate to clear challenging mobs. It's expensive but you heal to full instantly, you get a huge boost of 10,000 max health, magic, and stamina, plus you heal for 15% of all damage done by all your abilities for 20 seconds. It scales off your highest stats so the bats themselves do very good dot damage (to everything in a really large radius) even if you're full stam/wd.

Stay Stam, stay Bosmer, ascend to Stage IV and enjoy Unnatural Movement -> Strike from the Shadows.

Thanks to the scaling... you can go Blood for Blood on the spammable which is a health cost morph of Eviscerate. It'll scale with your physical offensive stats now thanks to the current patch.

Get high self healing whether through sets or abilities and with the vampire passives on top of BfB you'll find yourself dominating most overland and solo PvE content. As long as the self healing keeps coming you'll never have to worry about running out of resources again because Blood for Blood is incredibly sustainable.

If you're just looking for something fun to play, run sets that change performance based on health and then play with Vampires health based skills. Titanborn and True Sworn fury with eviscerate come to mind because they both give you large damage bumps at low HP. You can run one or both of those with Iceheart which will give you some survivability with a damage shield, preventing your health from going up and raising your damage.

Another fun synergy is Ancient Dragonguard paired with undeath which will have viable damage but will make you harder and harder to kill at lower health.

For a Warden with all their stamina morphs it might not be handy but if you don't mind using a lot of weapon abilities then the Daring Corsair set is nice, giving a 10% reduction on weapon skill cost. Works especially well with the two hander line since it so well rounded. Bonus when used on a Redguard.
