EU maintenance just before reset. Was this one acting bad too? It wasn't yesterday.

Out another 3 tickets and endeavors for the day.

I should go for the grind and stop enjoying the game I guess.

It was announced awhile ago, I knew about it a few days ago and I don't even play EU. It's the maintenance for the cold storage migration, EU is the last server to go through it and they picked a time in the day it would have the least impact.

While this maintenance was announced a few days ago, it was meant to last until 10 am CET. Now I wake up and see it's already set to last 4 hours more... let's see if EU players will get to play at all today.

This is the first time I have seen an EU long outage window start before the "day switch". Perhaps I missed others, but that is the problem.

The NA one was required (so I was told) because of a hardware failure, but this was planned. I am used to having them go down at the same time/during the same window.

    Maintenance is a necessary evil.

Let's just hope that it doesn't take so long and that they finish early.

Will there EVER be a maintenance downtime without someone complaining that he/she can not play because there is a maintenance downtime? This was announced for days right on top of this page and it still got you off guard?

Several of you did not read what I wrote.

I don't care when the window is. I care about deviations from the norm.

They caught me again. I had 2.5 hours to finish my daily stuff and was still not early enough. MOST maintenance starts after the reset. It was MUCH earlier this time.

Yeah, my fault for not paying attention earlier, but still very annoying when I could have done those earlier instead of just playing on NA. The opposite of what happened a few days ago, though that was driven by instabilities.

Do those who disagree really try to understand the point or just correct the poster?

Most people understand the point, they just don't mind as it's a necessary evil of playing online games. Especially when it's signposted days ahead of time. It's not like we weren't warned.

The problem with hyperbolic statements like this, is that you instantly lose any credibility in a discussion.

I stopped collecting tickets and have much more fun now - FOMO is garbage and unhealthy practice. I'll get my collections from permanent content. The same goes for my endeavors , I only hammer out the weekly if its easy, and ignore the daily which I usually get a couple passively anyway. 0 stress about it. Daily login? Its unreasonable to ask people to log in every single day. I'll get the rewards I get and do the content I enjoy that aren't on a timer. WoW completely burnt me out on these shady practices, now its all too obvious to me. They want us all addicted to that crap.

What I really don't get - is - why the EU maintenance needs to be smack in an event. That right after they said - we can see how that is bad, and we will try moving them out of the events - I guess they didn't mean EU.

I read what you wrote, but there was an announcement both on the forums several days ahead, and on the login screen as usual a few hours before.

And for one I am happy and grateful they started a very long maintenance for the EU server when most of the EU players are sleeping, rather than have it take up most of the day dragging on to prime time.

I told before. You mist read the explenations. And events - we have nearly every month a event, and every two weeks an maintainance. Not a really surprise.

My post was about the timing of this specific maintenance, not the time in general. Shifts are the worse in any business if it is outside the norm.

Though I am somewhat surprised any MMO needs a regular huge outage window. I have worked on major websites where "5 9s" was the target. I can't think of a major MMO that would meet that window.

Nevertheless, my post was about the shifted time, not the absolute time. Several posters said they could never pick a "good time" which was not my point. That said, avoiding the end of the game "day" is probably a good idea. Change the reset time for the game if needed. It is a bit surprising that NA and EU have the exact same time. (Not programmatically, but in real life.)
