ESO doesn't work on OpenVPN

Why is that so? I've tried it on others before. TCP, UDP (wireguard) connections were allowed but what is the reason for the game not connecting with openvpn? I have network restrictions so I need it to play. While I do have my own mobile connection, I'd rather use the other one.

I too had trouble when I was subscribed to PrivateTunnel which uses OpenVPN, also my router wasn't accepting configs from PrivateTunnel. So I switched to NordVPN and all my trouble went away, and it's a dollar cheaper a month. My routers will accept their config files too.

Don't know if that is an option for you but it's what works for me.

I am using some free openvpn so changing to a paid one like nord for it is not something I want to do

Using some config I found on the net using port 53. Wonder if that is the reason.

Openvpn is just the client software, which may have issues... but what vpn are you connecting to?
Private tunnel like @Jem_Kindheart was saying, or something else?

It's something else. Don't know what it's called other than PL226.
