Spent a good while theorising over my keybinds, then went into combat.

30 minutes later certain key presses on the tarterus started to 'grind', the action wasn't a clean press and there was a clunk (like something was fouling the action). Definitely didn't feel right and for £80 I was hoping for better.

Gutted.

Tarterus is regular keyboard? Or a keyboard like thing? Swap in regular keyboard while return and or replace the Tart thing. I have used lots keyboards on this game. I play on several PCs is why.

Cuz, Keyboard and Mouse is the way to play. It takes about 12 to 16 hours of play for the muscle memory to develop so it is like second nature. Once done, you will not want to go back
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I also have a Tartarus (V2 Chroma) and it does not clunk... I'd contact support or ask to exchange for a new one if you bought it just now.

Edit: if it's not new or you are not worried about potentially voiding the warranty: I lifted each key and removed the wires under the keys to make the presses silent and the the feel improved greatly. Worth a try?

I've had a Tartarus V2 for quite some time now. No issues yet. Nor with other Razer products. Agree with Kenarthi. If the layout itself was working for you, it's worth trying to get a replacement.

Please stop making requests for game features. ZOS have enough bad ideas as it is!

    Thanks for all your posts.

The main culprit is the number 11 key - which is caps lock. It definitely has a different action to the rest of keys.

It's brand new from amazon so if its not meant to be like this, will initiate return / replacement.

Also ordered a naga 12 button mouse. Do you find it better to map your skills to the mouse or tartarus?

    Best,

Dunno, you'll have to tell me :) I always wondered how people do it when pressing those buttons on the side surely impact the aim?

Yeah that's what I thought but will test out.

Amazon have shipped a new tartarus and I'll get it on Monday. Whoop whoop.

    Best,

I have the same setup - Tartarus V2 for the left hand, Naga (2014 but still works fine) for the right hand.

On the Tartarus, I put the movement on the joystick/directional keys + ultimate on the button right below so that my left thumb controls all that, then the 1-5 skills on the near row, with jump/sneak/sprint on the second near row. Other rows are empty as I have small hands and cannot reach those buttons easily.

On the Naga, I use the 2 top buttons near the mouse wheel for weapon swap and weapon sheathe, roll dodge on the "mouse wheel lean left" and "mouse wheel lean right", and those 12 thumb buttons are used for things like map, inventory, quickslot, summon horse, group menu, guild MOTD, etc.

Naturally you need to find your comfort spot, I tried coding the spells on the mouse hand but it did not work well for me.
