High Isle pre order

I decided to pre order High Isle on PC. I already had everything up to Blackwood. So, I see there is this bundle to get High Isle and they give you everything else before High Isle. The difference was, you get all the previous Collectors Edition items from the past. So, I bought it and OMG, mounts, non combat pets, skins, cosmetics and that was it? I did get 2 Experience Scrolls. Overall not enough to justify the money spent to get everything I possibly could from the past up to High Isle when it launches. I am not the type of person that goes crazy over items that do not give you some sort of advantage in the game for your character. I felt like I was playing Fortnite and spending V Bucks. My kids waste their money on that trash so they can look like the Joker or whatever is the latest. Then, they see something else that they like and then they want that one. It never ends. It is also like buying ringtones for your flip phone back in the day so funny stuff would play or you could get your favorite song to play. Min was the Darth Vader song when my wife would call me. That was funny! Does anyone else feel this way about what I am saying in my post?

You paid for cosmetics and are disappointed that you only got cosmetics?

Summerset, Western Skyrim, Northern Elsweyr, and Blackwood all give your characters ways to have power and advantages. The Collector's Editions just give you the exclusive cosmetics from those Chapters/DLC.

If you want to turn this purchase into a progression or combat advantage, you can farm new items from High Isle when it releases and sell them. You can make millions fairly easily that way to spend on experience scrolls, gear, etc.

@tsaescishoeshiner, Okay, so once High Isle releases, I can go crazy with getting items all over High Isle and then sell them to merchants and they will give lots of gold for these items? I feel I am doing that already. But, I do know I am getting pretty good gear when I play in Blackwood right now.

No, usually you do daily quests for motifs, or farm containers for furnishing plans. And sell them to other players while they're brand new and rare.

If you already had everything up to (and including? or not including?) Blackwood, then the only reason to pay extra to get the version that gives you zones you already have access to would be to get the extras that come with that version. Did you not check out what those extras were before pulling the trigger?

When I bought ESO several years ago, I chose the version that gave me the "Guilds and Glory" bundle along with the base game and Morrowind. I later decided to purchase the collector's editions of each of the DLCs that were in the bundle, even though I already had those zones, so I could get the extras that came with them. However, I didn't buy a given DLC (again) unless it was on sale during the celebration event for that zone, and I first examined what the extras were and how much it would cost to purchase them separately in the Crown Store (if they were even available to be purchased separately), to make sure I was getting a good deal. I wrestled with myself over buying or not buying until I was satisfied that I would be happy with my final decision.

The advantages to preorder are purely cosmetic, always have been always will be. Its an MMO. Its unrealistic to expect you would have some sort of combat advantage from a simple pre-order. It would discourage new players from coming in after the game was launched.
