Target is Immune

Nope! You're not allowed to heavy attack the mob right in your face, no resources for you! Or tries to cast a spell that targets the ground or a frontal slam, but nope "Target is Immune" and prevents you from casting it entirely. What game mechanic causes this and how can I avoid this crap further?

✭✭✭✭That should only happen with mobs that are immune to whatever effect your skills are causing, whether it's because they're just immune to that effect all the time or because of CC immunity. Most bosses are immune to stuns, roots, and other CC aside from Taunts, for example, and you'll get that message if a skill would apply that effect to them.
In cases where the skill does damage as well as applying an effect, that skill shouldn't be prevented entirely, the damage portion should still happen, as far as I know. Only the effect that would be applied should be blocked.
Edit to add that yes, I'm fairly sure this is a bug and you should definitely do as the person below me mentioned in regards to reporting it. ✭Just report the bugs, hope they get fixed & don't spawn worse bugs, that's all you can do.
I like it when I go to fire a ballista & I get the message "this siege is currently busy"... what's it doing? on a call?!? i did not realise my siege was sentient.
Or when I am cycling siege & get the message "Input Language has changed to English" LOL
Or how last patch they fixed the bug where you can't see how many seige you have in your inventory when buying new siege... this patch, broken again.

Its because Sieges are allowed to carry their mobile phones on the job.
