That first mini-boss, the one that basically reflects 100% of its incoming damage to one player, which player is it actually targetting? Because in dungeons I'm playing heals almost exclusively and I can 100% guarantee that I'll be the one being targeted. And people being the clueless idiots that they are, they're going to nuke the boss but not enough to kill it before the mechanic kicks in and guess who stays on the floor?
If you are heals are you also the one being targeted? At this point, I'll just stay away from the fight.

Yep, it’s random. If players so not referees their dots ands stop doing damage when the dots end then no one dies. Most pugs probably don’t know the mechanics or don’t pay attention to what they’re doing. M

Also, unless you're specifically going for a no death run, it's usually fastest to burn through the reflect and let someone die.

I'd argue that it is worse when your pugs don't have enough damage to kill healer.

    Yes, "unless", not "if".

Maybe but not needed since even a speed run can easily be done without anyone dying. Whatever time is saved is not significant.

Most of the times people are doing VoM they're doing daily randoms or pledges, where they don't care about anything other than getting to the end of the dungeon as fast as possible, so it's not worth the extra time or effort to go for the no death.

My bad, somehow managed to read "if" :|

Got in there twice by today as a healer, first time it was me and second time the tank who got connected. On other occasions i saw a DD getting it too so yes, it's completely random.

I soloed that boss today (normal) for the daily. I died because I forgot to manage my dots. It's so frustrating I have to laugh at myself.

Have you tried Ring of the Pale Order? I'd be interested if you can outheal your DOTs.

I do have the Ring of the Pale Order, but it was on another toon. I just messed up the encounter is all. This was a clear case of 'not paying attention'. I mean, it's actually the easiest fight ever while solo. What I do is switch dots for direct damage options for that fight, and then put them back after.
